Not playing Martyr

      sickcreddy.gif

I got to bed fairly early last evening and set my alarm for this morning with all intentions of going into the office.  I got up and started my routine.  I had coffee and went through mail as I always do.  My throat was still a bit sore but it felt better than yesterday and I figured I would live through it.  I logged off to start the process of getting ready for work.  I ironed my clothes and headed toward the bathroom to shower.  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  I felt exhausted and queasy and my head was pounding.  I was hot and cold at the same time and thought I best stay home.  No need to play martyr.  Playing martyr was one of the reason I was in this mess.  Folks who come into work sick, coughing or more like hacking and constantly complaining they have a fever of over 100.  Why are you at work???  Helllooooo???  The rest of us do not need it, stay home!

So with that in mind, I did just that.  I climbed back into bed and had more covers on me then I ever do.  I curled up in a ball and fell back to sleep.  Sound asleep and I think I stayed there until almost noon.  I got up, freshened up, threw on sweats and did absolutely nothing.  Slept on and off all day.  My fever broke at some point and I am feeling much better.  Good thing too, did you see the size of that needle?  The sparkle on the tip?  The smile on the nurses face?  No thank you!  I do have a bit of a cough, but the throat is better and I can swallow without wincing.

Again, the weather isn't helping at all.  The temps are bouncing all over the place.  Low 30's high 50's.  Sun out, barely, and then chilly rain.  As far as I could tell, today the temperature got up to almost 60.  I did notice a bit of sunlight at one point but then the rain came and now it's back to the 30's.  I can hear the wind howl and the rain slap into the windows as it does.  I think I need a bubble or a mask to wear around to keep this crud away!

If you are sick and have a fever, do us all a favor and stay home, please.

Some outdoor scenes

The weather here has been crazy and it's no wonder everyone is sick.  Flu, strep, sinus crap.  You name it you can find it.  For the past few weeks the temperature has been at least 10-15 degrees higher than the norm.  Shouldn't complain I suppose as we could be buried in snow, but the rainy dreary days with temps in the mid 30's to 40's is cause for a lot of grief and floating germs.  It is supposed to be in the 50's by the end of the week.  I know we aren't getting off lucky.  All that does is keep the lake water warmer and free of ice, so when the cold weather does hit (and it will) there will be lake effect snow.  Can anyone say blizzard?    In the meantime I thought I'd share a few outdoor scenes I animated, and no snow!  LOL

What's that smell?!

I came home from work early today, I wasn't feeling well.  Sore throat and the crud.  I basically did nothing all afternoon but lay around sleep, lounge, and sleep some more.
I woke to this wonderful smell.  Who was cooking?  Not that I thought I could swallow, but whatever it was it smelled like heaven.  I was the only one home and it obviously wasn't me.  Thinking it was wonderful dream and some prince had come to take care of me I laid there hoping a tray would be brought soon.  Like that was going to happen, not!  As I came to I could smell something so wonderful it made my tummy growl.  My neighbors must have had one helluva dinner.  Me, I made soft boiled eggs.  You know, easy to slide down.  They weren't bad, but I would have rather had what I was smelling!!

Rules are meant to be broken......... on occasion

LOL and I broke the rule!  I couldn't help it I swear!  I laid down on the couch, just to test it out, and before you know it I was asleep like a baby.  So soundly, I think I snored, but I know I didn't drool... I checked :)~  It was heaven, absolutely wonderful.  The firmness felt great on my back, the softness called me into dreamland.  Sssshhhh don't tell!!  I don't want the big 'galoops' plopping on it and ruining the springs.

Faith & Good Wishes

                      havefaithangel.gif

I want to thank everyone who played along a bit earlier.  I was in a really silly mood all day today.  It might be that I was up pretty late last night or that I had some really good dreams.  LOL No I won't share them. Or it even could be seeing that graphic and animating it made me just get giddy.

There comes a time in our lives where we need to find faith and have a guardian angel over us.  We've all had those days, weeks, months, years.  It's nothing to be ashamed of.  It's good to reach out for additional strength.  Some need it more than others.  Sometimes it is serious issues, sometimes it's just hope or faith that something good will happen.  Something to better ourselves or someone else.  Good thoughts, prayers, and wishes go along way.

Where am I going with this?  ::grin:: I am going to ask for good wishes for my son.  It's nothing serious, and I do not want to take anything away from those that need more.  I am just hoping with all my heart he gets good news this week.  He applied for a job a while ago. A very very good job.  It will increase his pay well over 2 times what he is getting and could lead to HUGE things.  He has made it through a good portion of the process.  Tests, interviews, more tests, more interviews.  It looks extremely good so long as he passes the last three tests.  A background check, physical, and drug test.  Surely he has passed the background check because they've already done the drug test.  (no results yet) The drug test is done with hair not your typical urine sample and is very expensive.  So I can't imagine they'd skip the cheaper test and go straight to that.  Background test and drug test are really not an issue with him.  He is more worried about the physical.  When he was young he had so many issues with his ears and we know there is a hearing loss.  Not sure what the criteria is forthis job, and he is scared that he won't pass it.  I told him to have faith, that good things come to good people.  Corny yes, and I wish it was that easy, so I ask that you all just have a good thought/prayer for him.  This would be such a good thing.  It would keep him from struggling week to week and start him on a career that would be excellent.  He goes back in Monday to see the Dr. Neither of us are real sure what will take place then, but we are hoping he will have an answer.  A good answer.  Please keep him in your thoughts and send the strength and good will vibes :)  Thanks!

Calendar Boys

calendarboys.jpg

Well, with having to resize this so not to have it take up the whole journal I lost some of the clarity but you'll get the general idea :)   You all hear me mention my boys.  Some have taken that to be my sons, but in fact it is my nickname for my hockey team. This past week at the game they gave out calendars.  In the past they were action shots and very 'sporty.'  This year they must be going for the female fan because they looked like calendar boys!  Eww laaah laaaah

One of the guys at work mentioned he had it hanging in his office.  He must have caught the look because he asked if that was bad.  Answer,  'well no it's not bad if you don't mind displaying a calendar with hot guys.'  ROFL  needless to say calendar is down and I ended up with another one!

I will qualify my liking of hockey by stating I loved the game way before these guys were on my team.  Hell before some of them were born so it's not their looks that attracts me to the game, but damn it sure doesn't hurt!  LOL
