YES, I do believe!!! LOL

Ok, so Rick Jeanerette, who does the play by play for the boys started saying last year during the playoffs, 'now do you believe?'  The cardiac boys never gave up and regularly came back in fashion to steal a point here or there, even win a game.  Tonight was no different. 

 

After the officials totally blew a goal for the boys by calling the play dead even though the puck was still in play, the Habitants went up 2-0 in the beginning of the second.  About seven minutes into the second Jiri Novotny scored for the boys.  Thomas Vanek made an awesome pass from behind the net and Jiri slapped it home.  Before the end of the second Koivu scored for Montreal putting them back up by 2.  It was a bit disheartening since this was the home opener, but 51 seconds into the 3rd Jason Pominville took a pass from Jochen Hecht and brought us back to within 1.

 

Good 'ole Jason.  He is a sweetheart!  A couple of years ago I had the chance to meet him in Rochester after an Amerks game.  My friends and I had stopped at a bar not to far from arena for a drink before heading home.  The players came in and it was a hoot.  The majority of them had big black X's on the back of their hands as they weren't even old enough to drink.  Did I feel old?  Damn straight!!  Jason wanted me to buy him a drink, and of course I said no.  We teased a bit that night.  LOL

 

Half way through the 3rd, Montreal scored again, going up by 2 once again.   Argh!!  A few minutes later you could see some of the fans leaving the arena to get a jump on traffic.  Then Danny, our little Mr.  Clutch broke in alone and beat Huet 5-hole (between the legs)  Down by 1.  I was glued to the TV, I know my boys!!  With 15 seconds left in the game, Max scored to tie the game.  My house rang with, 'MY MAXIE!' We're going to OT.  Back and forth play for the 5 minutes with no one scoring.  It was then on to the shoot-out.  The NHL does not want any game to end in a tie.  Max scored againin the shoot-out.  The first two players from Montreal were stoned by Ryan Miller, and then it was Vanek's turn.  Score and game is over, miss and Montreal has another chance.  Well, Vanek did not let us down.  He put the game away and the boys came back to win 5-4.  Yes, I do believe!!

 

I mentioned Jochen being my choice for the new jersey and thought I'd share a little graphic of him.  Ooohhh that face!!  LOL
