~ Update ~

:::sigh of relief:::  Richard Zednik is in a local hospital.  In the locker room they were able to stop the bleeding enough to transport him.  He had emergency surgery and it is said he is resting comfortably and in stable condition.  Two members of the Florida Panthers management stayed with him as the team went home.  They also chartered a flight so his wife could be here with him.  Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Weather... it is still freakin cold.  It is a balmy 6 degrees with a wind chill of -21.  Schools closing left and right.  Wish work was too!

Have a great day and thanks for the good thoughts sent Zednik's way.

Hugs

~d

Amazing .....I am surprised this type of injury does not happen more often ...considering how sharp the blades of the skates are.

Glad he is doing good

Stay warm ....have a great Monday

... schools closed here too ... I cancled all of my appointments ... don't drive, and I am NOT standing at the bus stop ...

... haven't watched the injury yet ... don't know if you rememeber what Lawrence Taylor did to Joe Theisman ... only saw that once ... and yes, I am a boxer who can PARTICIPATE in the inhumanity and gore of fighting, but shy away from the sight of the same ..!

good to hear Zednik is going to be ok.
Keep warm....it's going to be near 60° in North Alabama today...but it's 30ish right now.   (I can't complain to you about that, though can I?   You need to go into the deep freeze to warm up!)

I read this news, and saw the video this morning.  Terrible accident, but great news that everything seems to be going well.  Glad Zednik had the presence of mind to get himself over to the bench.

Have a great day.  Would send you some warmer temps if possible!

Sending love, peace and blessings,

Cindy

We're not that cold it was -2 below here this morning. No snow, but they SAY it's coming don't much believe it. Although I fear it will hit Lisa Jo and thats just what she needs with her illness.
Glad your guy is okay I don't follow hockey. My husband and I use to go to Rupp Arena and watch ice hockey up there, but they weren't pro teams. We took the kids a couple of times they loved it dressing up in jerseys and getting stuff. My son use to get pucks signed he thought that was the greatest thing.
Take care, Chrissie

I'm glad to hear that Zednik is going to be OK.  We had a chilly night (not like yours, of course) but it is supposed to get into the upper 50's today.  Looks like this is going to be another snowless winter.  Grrrrr.

When we were eating out yesterday, the TV in the place was on ESPN and they had the hospital press conference on. I was all "shhhhhhh" to Marv so I could hear it, and I told him what I knew about the story and the guy from the past who got cut from what I read in your journal. He just stared at me and said "where have you been hanging out at?"LMAO!!! I'm so not a sports person (except I do like racing), so for me to know all that....well he was impressed!! I owe it all to you, Donna!!!! <hehehehehe>
I'm so glad he is alright.....it was a scare to be sure.

Pooh Hugs,
Linda
