~ Smiles ~

DsDesignsThanksgiving2007.jpg picture by 55hockeyfan

They called for a winter storm to blow through here last night/early this morning.   All we got was rain.  And I mean rain!  I woke up to my front lawn being a pond.  We were lucky, there was no water in the basement.  By the time we went to leave for my sisters the snow had started.  Just pretty little white flakes dancing to earth.  Here and there you could see white pockets on the ground, but it wasn't threatening in any way, shape, or form.

Dinner was great.  Tons of food, but then there has to be when you have a ton of people.  Turkey, tators, stuffing, corn, sweet tators, candied yams, cranberries, you name it we had it.   I got my full of black olives as well.  No, I did not put them on my finger tips this year, but I did eat a ton.  Most likely a whole can myself :)~  Pies and coffee soon followed.  We were stuffed to the brim.  The comfy chairs were soon filled and sleepy heads decorated the rooms.

There were smiles, laughs, and good stories.  I have pictures to prove it and thought I'd share.  The fire was roaring and with the oven lit it was way to warm to have my hair down, so up it went.  I should just cut it off.... but I won't.  When I left I was glad I had it.  The temps dropped and my car was coated in a layer of ice.  It was nice to have the main down the back of my neck to keep me warm LOL

I do hope everyone had a great day........

Hugs

~d

What wonderful photos!  Bug is a little beauty...you are too.  Lol!
We are experiencing the arctic cold here in the Lakes too but its so lovely to have the sunshine that comes with it.  I have had to have a light on indoors all day for ages it's been so dark all day!!!
You make your family gathering sound so happy and contented.  I could feel the firelight glow.  I'm off to have my hair cropped short.   Am I daft or what?    Lol!
I think I will wear my thick scarf today and a wooly hat.
Have a lovely weekend.

Beautiful picture.  Our winter is supposed to be wet and mild, no snow for us but then we have not had any in years.

Sounds like you had a very peaceful Thanksgiving, and I'm so happy you did.    I'm still stuffed this morning!    You know, down here (Alabama) if there's even a threat of snow, even more so ICE!, we all stay home and the whole town shuts down.

OMG, Donna, you are the ONLY other person, besides a couple family members I know who can eat a whole can of black olives!!  Tee Hee, I put them on my fingers too!  LOL  I used to do that with Quisp Cereal, too.  Is that the right cereal?  I think so.  Sooooooo funny!  Love them black olives!  Mmmmm!  Hugs, Val xox
