~ Tradition ~

     DsDesignsTradition2007.gif picture by 55hockeyfan

ROFLMAO!!!  I could not help myself when I looked around the room last night.  I had to grab my camera and get these shots.  I'm sure it's a tradition at everyone's house.  After a huge meal, naps are in order.   Look familiar to anyone?  Did you see this at your home last night?  :::giggle:::

Another tradition... shopping the day after Thanksgiving.  Not I!  There is no deal worth me getting up at 3 am and standing in line in the blustery weather only to find there were only 3 items in stock anyway.  Anyone out there bold enough to venture out?  Did you get what you wanted?

I did sleep in a bit and then got up and did some errands around the house.  I made a new sidebar graphic getting ready for the next holiday.  Now I just need to motivate myself to get my gift list in order and get out and shop.  I have $100 gift card that I received from work.  For my 15 years with the company that was my gift.  Not bad, eh?  Surely came at the right time.  I know it's supposed to be for me, but this is what I want to do with it.  A few extra gifts under the tree will make me happy.

Hope everyone is having a great day today, I was lucky enough to have the day off ...........

Hugs

Wonderful photos Donna!  Everybody full to the brim with turkey and Pumkin Pie (or black olives..Lol!)  And a little 'nip' or two.  Then to sleep....perchance to dream.....excellent!  That's the way to do it....!
Thanks for sharing.

Loved the pictures too ~ pretty typical for sure!  Turkey seems to have that kind of effect on us ~ especially with the FULL tummies!

NO Black Friday shopping for me any more either!  I use to do it in my younger days, but NO MORE, NO WAY, NO HOW!

Our Packers are 10 & 1 so the folks are very happy here in GreenBayLand!

Thanks for sharing ~ have a good day & weekend!

Nope, like you I didn't venture out.  Although there is still plenty of time left.  We had game hens for Thanksgiving . . . just the two of us this year.  They were wonderful!  I stood up most of the day and am paying for it today.  Well . . . not so much . . . I'm in my bed watching whatever I want, computer at hand.  Rob has the bigger TV in the living room for football.  Many blessings to you and yours, Penny  http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/FromHeretoThere http://journals.aol.com/firestormkids04/TimeforaLittlePoetry

It showed the crowds lining the streets on our news. People sitting on the pavements, queuing, all night, in the freezing cold. No, not for this bunny. Loved the photos. Have fun shopping, and buy yourself a little something nice.
Love to you

Yes, that is a tradition here as well. And I agree with you about shopping. As I said in my last entry, I will do my shopping in my own good time, and I will catch what I can on sale.

no one in my family, like dad or brother or mom, even called me nor saw me. So, no, i have no pics from Thanksgiving like that. I worked the whole week so i was there to see the customers at 5AM on Friday.
I love that collage and i smiled at seeing your sweet family all asleep. So cool. Congrats on that $100. That is a big deal if you ask me.

LOL that is so true.. sleeping afterwards is tradition!! Yes, I believe it happens at everyone's house and the only one not sleeping is the cook. It's all that turkey that puts everyone to sleep.
Take care, Chrissie

Hi, Donna!
Those pictures of everybody napping are cute.  Yeah, we do that, too.  What's the name of the stuff that's in turkey that makes you sleepy?  I can't ever seem to remember!  (It must make you forget, too!  LOL!)  The pictures of you and "Bug" are precious.  I have a "Bug," too...her name is Amity.  She had all four of her wisdom teeth taken out the day before Thanksgiving, the poor baby!  And my sister, Carol, had her gall bladder removed the same day.
I prayed that you and your family would have a good Thanksgiving Day...it's so hard to go through those "firsts," but when you're surrounded by family, it's much easier.
God bless you, Donna.  My husband and I will be keeping you all in our prayers!
    *Hugs*

Love it!!! Too funny! Looks like everyone had a GREAT day! :) I did not mess with Black Friday shopping! It's not quite as horrendous here in Germany on post, but still just did not want to deal with it! We actually went to this wonderful town named Rothenburg. It's a city that the "old city" is still surrounded completely by a wall. It's a wonderful, beautiful town! It's about an hour away from us! Our chapel paid for us to stay in a hotel just outside the wall and for dinner and breakfast! It was a thank you to us "20%" who do most of the volunteering within the chapel! It was an awesome thank you!!!! We'd been there before but was excited to return and do more shopping and exploring and had great friends with us too!

God Bless
Christy

Cute pictures of sleeping relatives, LOL.  I'll bet they won't appear so cute when they find out you posted them on the net!  LMAO!  Glad you had the day off.  I had to work, but it wasn't too bad.  Good luck finding the right gifts with that nice giftcard from your company.  Glad they appreciate your service.

Yep....that's what some of us wanted to do but with my sister, her hubby, and my 3 mo. old nephew Dean-o here from MI (1st time we got to meet him), we try to spend as much time together only getting 3-5 hrs. sleep.  Dean-o gets enough sleep for all of us.  LMAO.
