~ BLAH ~

Couldn't think of a subject for this entry, can't figure out how I want to start, and hell if I could do a graphic to save my life.  Not sure exactly why, but after dinner I just got in a blah mood.  Not depressed, not sad, not sick, just blah.  I swear I did 30 graphics and hated each one and deleted them.  Started over, deleted.  I tried different types.. scenes, cartoons, valentines, animals, you name it.  Not one came out to my liking.  Some I even scrapped before I finished.  I thought about doing a tutorial, but they are a dime a dozen.  Sure I've done some, but anyone can do them, use someone else's creative juices and follow along.  Oh, don't get me wrong, some are absolutely gorgeous, but I don't want to get in that habit.  I want to use my creative juices and create something to share that came from my heart.  Not something I found on the net and just followed along.  Maybe doing so many graphics and offering them all up right away has me burnt out.  Who knows, so again this entry is going to be slim pickings.

This next part might piss some off, not my intent.  I just can't put my arms around it and think it is way over the top.  Help me out .......

I will start by saying I am an animal lover.  I grew up with pets, and not to long ago had to put my cat down after having her for 17 years.  Never in a million years did I think doing that would effect me like it did, but I cried for hours, days.  I miss her.  I do.  I am not ready to replace her and have to go through that again.

Now, today I had the most bizarre experience.  A co-worker came to me and asked for help printing out a birthday card.  Her home printer was on the fritz and she couldn't get the color one at the office to work.  She hands me a disc and I open the card/flyer.  It's cute, a few words, and a picture ofa puppy.  I ask her if Guss got a puppy for his birthday.  She looks at me funny and says, 'no, Guss, is the dog.  It's his birthday'  Ok, cute.  Doing something for their pet, she has a young son and doesn't want to let that 'special day' go by.  Through the years I'd given my cat special treats,  new toys, special food on her day.  No big deal.  She then goes on to say she is going to put her pets paw in ink and get his footprint on the card.  I must have given her a look as she proceeded to tell me what was going on.  Of course swearing me to secrecy first.  I agree.  Come to find out a friend of hers is throwing a surprise birthday party for her dog.  Now, she made me swear I wouldn't tell.  Who the hell would I tell???  Gus????  I think my eyes bugged out of my head, my co-worker doesn't even blink.  She tells me they are all going over to this surprise party.  Ok, odd excuse for a party, but hey have a few beers and have fun.  No..... she is serious.  Apparently Gus's owner will be walking him from 7-7:30  the guests are to arrive in that time frame with their pets and wait quietly in the basement so not to get Gus suspicious.  HUH?????   Oh yeah, they will be in the basement with their pets, some that Gus have never met and Gus's 'parents' will bring him down to surprise him.   Oh yeah, I see surprise!!!  WTH!?!  My co-worker then tells me what her pooch bought Gus.  Some kind of treat.  Gus's mom sent out invitations and inside listed the treats Gus likes, what toys he enjoys playing with, and what kind of blanket/pillows he enjoys.  At this point I'm looking for a get away.  This is beyond puppy love.  Oh, no kids will be there, just pets.  WTF!?!  Are you kidding me?  You mail out invitations for a surprise party for your dog?  With a list of items to bring?  You have strange dogs in your basement to greet your dog when you get home?  You make people swear not to tell to spoil it?  I said, oh I'd love to see that on film.  She gets all excited and tells me they will video it.  Ok, for America's Funniest Videos.  No, just for them.  I know people love their pets, treat them like family.  But...........is this just a little bit over the top?  Bizarre?  Am I missing something?  Help me out......  I can't even laugh... I kid you not, this co-worker was excited about the party and looking forward to it.

Ohhhh did I say slim pickings?  Sorry, don't even feel like uploading any and the one I did use has absolutely nothing to do with my post. LMAO....... hmmmm or maybe it does.  I did say blah, didn't I?

YEAH!  Tomorrow is Friday...........  night

~ Messing Around Wednesday ~

Git your minds out of the gutter!!  I didn't mean that kind of messing around, and like I'd tell you anyway.  ROFL  I had a half way decent hump day.  After our departmental meeting at work all went smooth and the day more or less flew by.  The temperatures here have dropped and it is pretty cold out.  Still no snow tho!  Around lunch time today it did start coming down pretty good.  Big white fluffy flakes that made visibility tough.  I called my son and told him he might want to leave a few minutes early for work.   At work it ended almost as quick as it started.  You have to love those lake effect bands.  Not 5 miles away they got about 7 inches, and further south they've been getting 6-7 inches a day for the past few days.  At my house?  I am seeing grass.  It isn't that vibrant green mind you, but it isn't white either.  It's only a matter of time.

I pretty much lounged when I got home from work.  Watched my boys play Chicago as I messed around in PSP.  No theme, just touched on a few different ideas.  My memories tag at the top was something that just popped into my head the other night when I found the vintage graphic while searching for something else.  I am pretty pleased with the way it came out but it looks best on a white background.  Probably should have left the drop shadow off... but hey I always use white so I don't think about it :)

Free your mind, I absolutely fell in love with the graphic when I got it.  I think I may have lost some of the water movement when I added the rain, but it seemed fitting .........  and free your mind.. WoW it could mean so much, ya know?

The others, LOL just being silly ........

I did have some issues with AOL mail today, so I may have missed a few alerts.. sorry.  No doubt I will be by soon.   I swear AOL had a burp today.  Mail went wacky and then I slowed to a crawl.  I'd say it was me, but I had a few others tell me they had issues too.  An upgrade no doubt.  LOL!!!  One alert I did get was from Kathy, onestrangecat.  I had to laugh when I read the entry.  A premonition no doubt. ::evil grin:: Oh, I didn't know, I swear.  Go check it out, then make sure you come back...............   ROFL!!!

Off to bed... hope everyone had a great day and wishing you a great day tomorrow!

~ All Stars 2007 ~

YEAH!!!!   Three of my boys were voted on to the All Star Team that will be held in Dallas on Jan 24.  The starting line up for both conferences is decided by public vote.  The remainder of each team will be announced next week.  Lindy Ruff, the coach of the Buffalo Sabres will also be the coach for the East.  There is still a chance that more of 'my boys' will be selected, but I have a feeling Lindy will bow out there and allow others to pick so not to look as though there is favoritism.

Starters for the East

Goalie - Ryan Miller -with 539,635 votes.  It's Miller Time!!!

Defense- Brian Campbell- with 602,982 votes.  Yeah Soupy!!

Forward- Danny Briere with 475,857 votes.  Way to go Danny!

All three from 'my' team.  :::big ass grin:::

Rounding out the starting line up

Forward- Sidney Crosby from Pittsburgh with 825,783 votes (hhmmm I think all of Canada voted for him LOL)

Forward- Alexander Ovechkin from Washington with 475,297 votes.  Can't wait to see him and Danny on the same line.  ROFL  This is the guy who gave that cheap hit from behind.

Starters for the West

Goalie- Roberto Luongo from Vancouver with 484,861 votes

Defense- Scott Niedermayer from Anaheim with 591,657 votes

Defense- Nicklas Lidstrom from Detroit with 573,069 votes

I won't bore you with anymore, but I wanted to post something.  I am so proud of the boys!!!  Congrats to all!  LMAO like they read this........

Today was an extremely long day and I really just need to go rest my weary eyes, put my head on my pillow and drift off to some place as sweet as my day was today... but warmer!!  I mean my heart was warmed, but winter finally arrived.

OMG!!!! I'm in Tears

You all know how much I adore Ste, well that is if you aren't living under a rock!  :)  Ok, new readers I will let you slide if you didn't know.   I think it was back in June/July when I clicked on a link at CarnivAOL  (or maybe it was a link in someone else's journal), I'm not really sure.  I was taken to a story about a spider.  I laughed so hard I cried.  I read it and read it again, not sure exactly why.  Maybe I knew the writer from another time, another life.  Whatever it was, it drew me in.  I immediately put them on alerts.  As time went on, a friendship was formed.  One of those soul touching friendships.  Even though it was online, and through pictures it grew to something beyond my wildest dreams.  It didn't take long for me to know I did know him, I knew him well.  Things we found in common were almost eery, in the absolute best way.  Most of you know the friendship just kept growing, even with 20 years separating us, we tell each other tons, secrets, dreams, wishes, fears.  It's amazing and I am so honored to call him friend.  A lot of you read his journal, so you are familiar with him as well.  (if you don't, check out the link above you will NOT be sorry).  He's amazing!  The most gentle soul you want to know.  He has wit, humor, a voice to die for, honesty, humility, and a personality matched by no other.  I, honestly, could go on and on about him, but you get the picture I'm sure.  Like I said, I adore him!  LOL

Sooo what is this all about?  Why am I in tears?  Once again he has touched my soul and my heart.  He sent this video to me, for me.  I won't go into the details of what he has said, or why .... I think the song will pretty much fill you in and let you know why I am in tears.

Ste..... love you babes!  You are the bestest!  Thank you so much..  for this.. for being you...  for all you do .... and thank you for being my friend.  A friend one only dreams about having.  *smooch*

Big 'Ole Hugs!

~ Monday Snags ~

Grrrr and it was a Monday!!!  I started my drive to work this morning and about half way there my head started pounding and actually made me feel sick to my stomach so I turned around and came home.  I went back to bed and slept until almost noon.  I haven't had a headache like that in awhile but should have known one was coming on as it's been a dull roar over the past few days.  Currently it is a gentle thump, but I do feel much better.  At least it wasn't a migraine, or a full blown one anyway.  I've been known to get them and OUCH!

They did call for snow today, but I only saw a few heavy flakes earlier, nothing since, and nothing on the ground.  South of here (in ski country) is getting some, and well, they want it.  They no doubt have been hurting.  It hasn't even been cold enough for them to make it.  My Winter Wonderland Fairy was made the other day in anticipation, but ............ oh well.  Since I did have a headache I really didn't feel like playing much in PSP today.   I did make Papa bear tonite as I was half watching the football game.  I am not sure if I lost him breathing when I added the snow.  I can see it slightly but not sure, maybe I should have just left it alone.  Too late now. :)  I just love these bears though!!!

Well, the Bucks are getting their asses handed to them, and no sense staying up to watch :::pout:::  I thought it would be closer then it is.  Oh well............

I'm off to bed.. hope all is going well.

~ Friends ~

:::waving:::  Hi Everybody!!!   I hope everyone had a good Monday.  I will tell you about mine later.  I just wanted to post 2 things real quick.

I just wanted to clarify my challenge from last night.  I never meant I expected everyone to leave a comment on each entry, or at all.  I was more directing it to those that have not commented before, just to introduce themselves, leave a link so I could visit them.  Don't get me wrong, I love the comments, but hell if I left a comment at each entry I read, on each journal, I would never do a graphic again.  I'd have no time!  I try to leave one, and most often I do. So please don't think that is what I meant.  Leave a comment if you can, I'd love it.  My regulars I know you are here ;)  If you've never left a comment feel free to do so.  Am I making sense?  Making things worse?  :::shaking head::: Sometimes I just talk too much!!  With that said, did you see who was here?  I really must have been good!!!  Santa visited me and left word :)    :::giggle:::

I've also done another graphic for tag.  Feel free to stop by and request one if you'd like.  D's Designs or email me at mydsdesigns@aol.com  I will most likely make the graphic a tad smaller.  LMAO I didn't realize how big it was until I actually saw it on my journal.  Also please see my note on the entry so you get what you want :)

Ok, 3 things........ go BUCKS!!!!   LMAO

~ Early ~

It's just a bit past 11 and by my standards that is fairly early.  Anyone who knows me, knows my last entry isn't usually until after 12.  I'm early tonight.  I'm tired!  I never did hear anything about the sirens last night, but trust me, I listened to the screeching for well over 30 minutes, it was not my imagination nor was it my smoke detector.  It was definitely police/fire sirens or some bizarre car alarm.  I've never heard of any law about no sirens past a certain time, that must be a UK thing, but there damn well should be one that says you can't leave them on for an unlimited time.  I'm beginning to think it was a car alarm, but out of my sight range, usually along with sound, lights flash and I didn't see any.  :::sigh:::  I don't think I will ever find out.

The afternoon was pretty much being a lazy ass and watching football, and I didn't take that nap.  My body tried, it really did.  I laid on the couch and just as I started to doze the phone rang.  Grrrrr.. it was my nephew calling because his mother had wanted help.  It was almost 5 in the evening and she had already done what needed to be done.  Such help, eh?  When he wants something he is here at the drop of a hat!   I get back on the couch and continue to watch the game.  Dozing again.... RRRRrrrrrrrring.. what the hell!?!  It's my niece wanting me to look something up on the Internet... she changed her mind.  We discussed her wedding for a bit.  Can you believe it is only several weeks away?  The big day is Feb 17th and I cannot wait!  Everything is coming together for her and she talks and talks and talks....   Got back on the couch and then it was too late.  I knew if I fell asleep I'd be done.  Jumped back on the computer and played.  Had roast beef, mashed tators, and peas for dinner.  OMG!!  It was wonderful!  I love being able to eat.  LMAO!!  No doubt I will gain a shit load of weight.  Even had chocolate/chocolate cake for dessert.  YUM!!!  I needed that chocolate fix.. but my hips and ass didn't!  Ya know, I can't even tell you what I did after dinner, it went by in a flash.  I just know I need to get to bed early.

I also know these 'valentine' graphics are early too.  WARNING one is slightly AC.  I got tired of winter scenes when it looks like spring outside.  I figured everyone else could use a break too.  I will say the temperature has been dropping all day and it is about 35 now.  They are calling for snow, but who knows.  I just know it's Jan 7 and we've been extremely lucky, can it continue?  I doubt it.

Ohhh I also thought of a challenge earlier today.  Might sound like I'm crying for comments.. LMAO but it's not that.  I just did my entry earlier and my counter jumped by almost 50.  I challenge those that stop to leave a note and say hi... :::giggle:::  lurkers and snaggers alike.  Tell me who you are, where you are from, if you're grabbing something, a link to your place so I can visit, something.... I challenge you ::evil grin::  I triple dog dare you!  Take the challenge!!!  'Cmon :)  Don't be scared.. we don't bite, and I bet if you leave a link others will stop by your place.

Ok....... that was a bit punchy... I'm tired.... hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for a great week.

Hugs
