~ Follow Up ~

DsDesignsBuffaloNY1-3-2008.jpg picture by 55hockeyfan

First I want to let everyone know I am fine.  It's been said my 'Eyes' entry was a bit cryptic, I'm sorry, it wasn't my intent.   I so appreciate the response and thoughts.  Though I've been hurt by just such things, as we all have apparently, it was really nothing other then something that had been festering.  I've had a few episodes recently.  I've also seen it happening to a few others.  I was curious how folks react.  Of course, we don't always know what's going on, in the real world or on the net.  There is most likely a reason.  But is there a good enough reason to just ignore the entire thing if you are suppose to be friends?  Personally I think it rude.   I have pretty tough skin, but to be honest it shows a lack of respect.  Might as well as slap me in the face, ya know?  If you don't have enough consideration to give me something, what do I really mean to you?

Trying to talk it out is generally the option or route.  Yet, when it's made into a joke or an explanation is promised yet not forth coming makes one wonder.  Is it worth it?  Do you continue to try to make amends when they think it funny?  That is if you can even get them to discuss it without changing the subject or becoming to busy, tired, (fill in any excuse) to talk about it.

It's nothing I won't get over.  We all react different.  Sometimes reaction is a case by case basis.  I just wanted to throw it out there and see how my readers respond to things of that nature.  Again, thank you!

Some made it appear they thought I was talking about them.  Probably not, maybe a little ::grin:: If I was pissed believe me you'd know it or I'd question actions.  As for not responding to each comment left on my journal individually, I'm sorry.  I do answer questions or personal emails.  I also know I use to respond to each.  Lately there is just not enough time to do so.  It doesn't mean I think less of you or that I don't like you.  Imagine the emails I'd be sending and the time it would take to respond to each.  Make tags, respond in each there, visit journals and comment, work full time (contrary to what you've been told), have a house to take care of.  Should I go on?  I know I comment on lots of journals and I don't expect a response to each.  So please if I don't respond to each comment don't take it personal *hugs*

The picture above I took today on my way home from work.  I was pretty disappointed.  Last night on my way home as the sun set it threw oranges, purples, reds across the front of the buildings down the street I was driving.  The sky looked to be on fire.  Sure and I don't have my camera.  So today I grab it.  All day the sky was blue and the sun was shining.  Guess what?  At 4:30 when I went to leave the sky was full of clouds and the snow was falling.  I went to the Marina anyway, but eeek there was nothing much to take a picture of.  Or not that I wanted to walk to in the frigid temps.  I turned and saw the buildings downtown and thought the angle and lighting was pretty cool so I snapped.  So it wasn't what I wanted but thought I'd share anyway.

Hope everyone had a great day.  It's almost Friday!!!

Hugs

~d

I didn't think your entry was cryptic at all.
I know I've felt the exact same way, especially lately.
So no worries.  I understand completely.

Great photo, btw.  Buffalo really seems to be an idyllic town....a little bit of something for everybody.

XOXO,
bridgett

I'm sure you here a lot of crap all day lol. Your journal is so well known that you are just open to a lot of different types of people. The best thing I think that you could do is ignore the harshly negative ones. I'm always open to opinions and different views but if people want to be nasty then to "you know were" with them....I don't respond to every one one of my comments either.. I think it's not necessary. I believe I do my part by reading EVERY alert that I get lol. Not that I mind because honestly, I enjoy reading journals more than writing them. I do respond to some comments, the ones that really stick out. Don't feel obligated, EVER! Journalling is suppose to be fun and relaxing, when it becomes stressful, then it means we are doing to much or trying to please to many people. I think you are doing a great job! Have a wonderful night! -MISSY

Donna- first off, i am pretty new to this journal stuff.....are we supposed to respond to every comment???? i do occasionally, but not often. and wow, i would have never expected a response to the comments i leave. i am always surprised (pleasantly) when i get one.

second- i wanted to comment on your eyes entry, but could not on the computer i was on at the time. some people are not comfortable talking about issues they are having, and i respect that. but a simple, "hey, i've got stuff going on right now that i have to take care of. don't worry if you don't hear from me for awhile", to me, is not too much to expect. it shows a respect for the friendship and the person. i have responded both ways.....if i finally hear from the person, i tell them how rude i thought they were, (i am honest like that. lol) if i try to reach someone several times...and never hear anything back, i stop trying and figure the hell with ya ;)

I think the picture is nice would have loved to seen the other, but I'm like you and don't always have my camera when the good stuff is showing. They'll be more days.
BTW, I personally don't get to respond to every email I get either. Usually, I'm pushed to do an entry. I can't even imagine you filling tags.
Take care and Hugs, Chrissie

The photo is beautiful, but I bet the one you wanted to take was awesome.  I've never got my camera with me when I go anywhere.
I'm glad to hear you are OK.  People are pretty complex beings. I think you just have to be careful out there.
Have a great Friday.
Hugs to you.

Thank goodness it is Friday now!  What a week.  Nice shot of the skyline.  You know -- this morning with the beautiful sunrise there were shades of pink with blue and violet.  Too darned cold to stand still long enough to snap!

Happy Weekend D!

i think that photo is awesome myself. But you always do good work. I rarely ever respond to a comment unless a question is asked.....and surely do not expect you to write a response back! Life goes by so quickly.

I rarely  send a comment to what someone wrote-not that I'm not thankful for them leaving a comment but it gets to be a bit much and I only have half a handful of readers. You have so many that would be a full time job just to comment on each comment....you would never get done,LOL..let alone tag your graphics for us to enjoy.....I am proudly displaying one of your graphics(I don't care what people say)...

Some times just getting through day to day living is tuff enough - I am thankful for the journals I do read and the part of them they choose to share.  Hoping your Friday is good to you, with the same hopes for the weekend that is to follow. Take care and have fun,
Katie

I don't assume entries are directed at me, unless I've done something to the person, & last time I checked, I haven't done anything against you ;-0. I do have a few women in the community, with children, so you'd think they'd act grown up, that email about me, but once in a while leave me a comment as if "everything is fine." Well, everything is fine, because I don't care! One even tries to cultivate people she thinks don't like me. It is sad, uhm not for me, but for her. I sometimes comment on the blogs of people like her anyway. It is sort of fun. Did I say that? :-0
I never tell people when I find out they've been talking about me, it is sort of more yummy to just let them be hypocrites to my face. I highly advocate everyone in aol journals trying this. Just ignore it. It is a dinky journal, not the NY Times best seller list.
Someone like Kimberleigh, now she mattered.  Your sister, that mattered. Not comments & petty bs. ~Mary

I wish I could just remember to take my camera with me when I go out of the house!!!  The last few days the snow in the trees has been soooooo beautiful and I keep saying I am going to bring my camera the next day but...............I just keep forgetting!  You are definatly ahead of me on the camera thing!  Linda

I respond to some but not all comments in my journal...i'm like you there is no way i could do so and work fulltime and keep up with the house and life in general...but i do try to respond when I feel I should.

Have a good weekend

Hey hun, *hugs* As i think i have said to u before on when u explain urself about entries u have wrote. U dont have to explain u shouldnt owe us really any reason. Sometimes we all wnat go ton our blog to vent on how we feel about things. I didnt take personally at all what u said. But i know exactly how u feel. I have felt this way many times wth online friends and off. Friendship is a wonderful, beautiful gift but also very complicated because well its a relationship, lol. U have to put alot into it, have to have trust, honesty and values. I like u, can shrug things off but when time after time u put effort into a friendship esp with keeping in touch and u get nothing in return thats just rude to me. Being ignored/feeling that way is the worse feeling. I think its great u asked for our input as well. The only thing i can say is this to let the person know how u feel. If that doesnt resolve it in anyway well heck with them. Never mind the last thing i said, lol. I noticed u said that the person was trying to make a joke of it all. Thats not right at all dear. A good, true real friendship will overcome anything just about. I wish i had better things to say. But know if u even need to vent im here to read ok? care about u lady :) I really enjoyed the pic. I think it came out really cool, u take great pics. Take care dear and ttys! *hugs, Leslie

Glad you are okay and that you just wanted all of our opinions as to how to deal with those situations.  The picture may not be what you were after, but it sure turned out great!

I personally love this picture, it's gorgeous even if the sky isn't as stunning as it was the day before! As for those who just up and disappear and avoid giving answers, I find it annoying and rude too and agree it is a case by case thing.

Have a wonderful Saturday. It's rainy and cold here in Germany and I have 3 sick kids and a husband (so virutally 4 sick kids! LOL) it's just colds, but they're all coughing and miserable over all! God has so far graced me with good health!
