~ Sunny Sunday ~

DsDesignsWinterScenes.jpg picture by 55hockeyfan

It was an absolutely beautiful day today.  No it wasn't in the 70's, but it did get into the mid 30's.  Warm for this time of year.  The sky was blue and the sun was shining.  What a difference from Saturday!  After my morning coffee and waking up I decided to venture out.  I stopped and filled my tank so I didn't have to do it on the way in to work Monday morning.  Gas is just out of control.  Over $35 to fill my tank.  I have a little 4 cylinder and great gas mileage, but damn!!  I pity those that drive SUV's.  EEEEEEEEEEKKKK!!  I also stopped at the grocery store.  Didn't 'need' anything, but picked up a few odds and ends and some things to have in the house.  My sister has surgery on her wrist on Friday, and I wanted to have some easy fixings for her.

I, of course, took my camera with me.  Figured on my drive through the neighborhood there would be something to take a picture of.  I always gravitate to the same locations, and today I think I got some half way decent shots.  I want to state here and now, I no way consider myself a great photographer, and I am far from a professional.  I have a camera, I point and shoot.  If I like it I keep it, if not I delete.  Start talking about filters, shutter speeds, or any other fancy term and I am lost.  I don't take pictures for profit, and I've never taken any classes.  I take the shots I have and dress them up.  Sometimes a lot, sometimes a little.  Most of the time I think the 'dressings' make the picture, not the picture itself.  I have fun doing it and it keeps me out of trouble.  For those that think I entered Marie's Photo Challenge as 'advanced' because I thought I was better then I am, you couldn't be further from the truth.   I would never in a million years put myself there by myself.  Trust me!  So much to learn, so much to grasp.  With that said, I do want to congratulate the winners.  Both ladies are well deserving and have showed overand over again what great photographers they are.  If I only.........

When I got home and had the groceries put away I thought I'd lay down for a bit before getting dinner going.  HA!!  Silly me.  What I thought would be a short bout of closing my eyes, turned into a full blown nap.  Must have been all the fresh air, as I sure as hell didn't do anything to tire me out that much.  Ahhh.. I know Bill will say it's because I'm up to late.  Pppffffttt  not the case!!  Dinner was great.  Stuffed chicken breasts, tators, and corn.  Hit the spot!!  Just wish it wasn't so late that we ate.  Will teach me to rest my eyes!

Lost cable for a bit this evening.  Not sure what happened, but in talking to my son he was without as well.  So much for being on line.   Suppose in the big picture it's not that big of a deal.  Half the time I may be on but I'm off in PSP playing.  :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend and a wonderful Sunday!

Hugs

hi d, i loved the snow pictures. we never get snow here so i like to see it in pictures. snow make great photos i think, all clean and crisp. Don't fret about what other people say, i think you are very good. i did photography at university so i know some of the technical stuff, unfortunatly i don't have an slr to play with. We did a lot of arty style photos at uni, i will try to dig them out and post them sometime. I love what you do with your photos, the digi scrapbooking, i am trying to do that but there doesn't seem to be enough time! LOL take care mrs txx

$35.00 was what it was when I drove the SUV,now that I have this 8 cylinder big-a
edF150 it takes $100.00-not fun-since I run my grandkids to and from school and our daughter everywhere...it's pretty but a gas HOG,LOL..........
What is it about barns? They are rustic-yes-but invoke a sense of home and hearth to us...heck our barns are where the cows do thier business--but when you drive by one -ya can't help getting a deep-sown nostalgic feeling...
have a great day...

Donna
It sounds like you had a pretty good day all around except for the brief cable outage.  The winter photos you took look great.  The barn looks like it would provide great possibilites for shots in all four seasons.  I hope the start to your week is a good one and that you have a great day.

I so love how you dress your photos in psp.  They become works of art with your keen eye for balance and additions.
I must set aside some time one day to find out how to do psp.  I have psp9 somewhere on this computer.  I would love to frame my old dog Guy in an artsy way that sets him off nicely.
If someone has been making comments on your photography take not an ounce of notice.  Just keep getting pleasure out of your digital camera.
I love mine as digi cameras are almost foolproof.  Point and aim. Then delete if not happy.  Its a great toy!
Thanks for sharing Donna...you never fail to give pleasure.
Love

i think the photos are great....snow makes everything so beautiful!  you may have not taken any lessons, but you definitely have an eye for photography.  and i have never considered myself advanced either...but due to vicki's last description between beginner and advanced...the latter fit me more.  lol  yesterday was beautiful here as well, and today will be more of the same!  i love it!! :)  have a good week.

I loved your little outing in photos...so pretty.  You captured some great shots.  I am one with a SUV, $65 is what it takes to fill it up....thank goodness, it last me almost two weeks between fill ups.  I bet the fresh air did give you that wonderful nap.  Hope your week is a good one...enjoy...and enjoy the warm up...we are too...40's here all week, with rain Tues and Wed.
Hugs and love,

Professional or not, you take great photo's.  I think it may be because you have a good eye for what would look good on camera.  Of course, your wonderful dressings make them even better.  Some people just have a knack and you belong in the advanced group because you are one of those people.  Hope your week is terrific.
Hugs, Joyce

Listen Ms. D
We've decided that "Professional Photographer" is too intimidating, so we now call it, ADVANCED...Ü  & YES, you are advanced...Ü.....If you have a good eye for photography & DESIGN....DUH!  Thats you, Ms. D....then you should enter in "Advanced".
Just to set the record straight....Donna could NOT enter in the "Beginners" this challenge anyway, even though she wanted to.  She was one of the judges & could not enter that challenge.
BUt I think everyone here agrees that Ms. D is a top notch photographer~
Ü
I hope you continue entering in our challenges...Ü
Hugs~

I always love your pictures. You can tell the difference between someone who has an interest and someone who has a fabulous talent and you fall under the latter category D. Love Pam xx

Yes, I have an SUV, and driving back and forth an hour each way means filling it up just about every 4th trip... still... I wouldn't give up my Jeep 4 x 4.  Will just have to work that much harder... or move somewhere warmer... :D  Great pics!

Beautiful pictures of your day, Donna...  But you need to know something:  You ARE a great photographer.  Not only that, but you are also so very creative and talented with your graphics.  When you put the two together, they are simply magic.

It costs me over $40 to fill my tank.  I can only afford to fill it half way at a time.  I should probably learn to fill it and then REFILL it when it reaches the half mark, like my mother tells me to...  But I never was very good at listening to her!  Either way, I'm still paying out the ying yang ~ as is everyone.  It's outrageous.
