I just had to do this... I had that little pelican and nothing to use it with... until now. LOL Not sure about you, but I love it!

Not much into writing today, but wanted to post this offer. I just love this little frog/toad... thought it was so cute from the first time I saw it.

Yes, yes I am both physically and mentally exhausted. The past week is like a blur. Running here and there, working, trying to keep my head on straight. Today was the first time in what seems like an eternity that I left work and came home. So much was calling my name but instead I crawled in bed and took a nap. LOL I did wake up feeling better. All the other things can wait... ya know?
My sister did come home today. YEAH!!!! The events of the day took a toll but she is home resting in her house. That in itself will make her feel better. I know being home with just her family was a good thing. No poking and prodding, or constant interruptions. A nice restful night at home. Continued prayers, good thoughts, and candles being lit are so appreciated. I do thank you for all you've done. The good words, prayers, thoughts, private emails, being there for me, and most of all understanding my sporadic comments and/or visits. I've tried to keep up, but I failed miserably and I'm sorry. I will get back on track soon.
Going to cut this short, but wanted to give you just a little update. I can't believe it's Friday already!! Hope you're all good and enjoying your week.
Thanks Emmi for this tag.. it reminded me so much of my sister I had to have it!

I heard Derek Roy got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty last night, this explains why. Cracks me up. Check it out. You might not know who the players are but you will get the idea of what they think....
Yeah baby, look at that face. Isn't he handsome? I could look at him all day long!! Sure he has a few marks on his face, but who cares. LOL Jochen has been with the Sabres since 2002. I adored him immediately. I tease and have been known to call him Joanne, but it's been in jest and more a term of endearment and no way meant in an insulting manner. I have nicknames for all the boys :) He will never be a huge goal scorer but he holds his own and contributes on offense. I think he is greatly underrated and is one helluva a two way player. Meaning he plays well defensively too. You will often find him on the ice defending the opposing teams top line and killing penalties. When the Sabres changed their jersey logo I wanted to buy a new one with his name & number. I hesitated because I knew his contract was up at the end of this season and I didn't want to spend the money only to have him be gone. Unrestricted free agency is a funny thing and allows players to move to where they want. The Sabres lost two big names over the summer because of this reason. One was grossly overpaid by Philadelphia and the other wanted to be in New York City, closer to home. My fears were put to rest today when it was announced he signed a 4 year extension with the Sabres. This is not a guarantee he will be here 4 years, but it would only be a trade and I don't foresee that happening. :::giggle::: Guess what I'm buying?
It's rarely I miss the boys play, but I did miss the majority of last nights game. I was at the hospital with my sister (continued prayers are appreciated). We had the game on and when I left the hospital the score was 1-0 in favor of the Leafs. As I was headed home I did have it on the radio and the Leafs scored again. Score 2-0, but I had other things on my mind. I stopped at my other sisters and went in to talk to her. It's been crazy here and I hadn't really talked to her face to face. While there my nephew walked in and was stunned I didn't have the game on. I told him last I knew it was 2-0. He was on the phone and smiled letting me know the boys tied it up. He headed into the family room and turned on the TV, the score was 3-2 Leafs. WTH!?! It was only a second. It stayed that way a bit and I finished up and left. When I pulled into my driveway the score hadn't changed. I came in the house, flipped on the TV and headed to the bathroom. When I came out the score was 4-3 Leafs. Cripes!! In minutes I missed 2 goals. About 2 minutes later Jochen scored to tie the game up. What an exciting few minutes I did get to watch. The final 4 minutes were rushes and shots, both teams trying to score next to break the tie and take the win. The final buzzer goes and we're going to overtime! During the short break I'm hearing how many times the boys hit the post and the puck came flying out. Beating the goalie but not getting the puck into the net. Overtime was thrilling. After coming back from down 2-0 the boys wanted the win! The fought hard and with 4 seconds left in the game Ales Kotalik banged one off the post. Brian McCabe tried to help his goalie, but no luck, the puck went into the net and the Sabres win 5-4. Our back up goalie was in net and really did well despite the 4 goals. Ryan Miller had spent Sunday in Michigan with his family celebrating the life of his young cousin who passed away. He was back in town and on the bench ready to play if needed, but the coaches thought it best to give him a break. Hard fought game and 2 points earned. Yeah baby!!!

Things have been crazy here and I've emotionally spent. Working all day, going to the hospital, coming home late and grabbing a bite to eat. I know I've been scarce visiting and I'm sorry. I will catch up. I do hope everyone has been good. Thanks for your prayers and good thoughts for my sister.
Had a few stored up, so thought I'd share 'em now while I have time. I also want to introduce a new tag journal - Steph's Stuff. She is new to PSP but has caught on quickly and her work is great. Stop by and show her some love, won't you? Please check her rules and let her know I sent you :) Thanks!

Where do I start? The day flew by and before I knew it my niece and I were meeting up at a local restaurant for dinner. I just want to clarify my niece is 21. She is not a little kid... well in my eyes she always will be but she really isn't. We had a quick bite to eat and headed to the hospital in two cars. Plans had changed earlier in the day and we needed to drop the car off for her Dad, who stayed at the hospital the entire day with my sister. She parked the car, jumped in mine, and we were on our way. As we headed to the arena the anticipation built as we passed fan upon fan walking. Jersey's and cheers all the way. We parked and got to our seats in time for the National Anthem. Nothing like cutting it close. Buffalo is one of the few arena's that play both the American and Canadian anthem for every game. As the American anthem started and I lifted my eyes to the American flag and began to sing along, the tears welled up. They always do. When it was over the crowd erupted in cheers and the players made their way to center ice for the first drop of the puck.
I was a bit crazy with the camera and got several good shots. The game is fast so I wasn't too successful in action shots, and I was shooting through glass. On occasion you will see scratches and scuffs. Nothing I could do about it. I decided to do a little video of my pictures and add sound. The audio is from a couple years ago so the names don't always match with the pictures, but it works. LOL Sabre fans will know :) No sense in boring non fans with who is who..................
We were four rows from the ice and had a great view of our goalie, Ryan Miller in net. The boys came out flying and a good portion of the play was at the other end of the rink. Shot after shot, aggressive around the boards not allowing Washington out of their zone. We just couldn't get the puck in the basket. Washington's second shot of the game, over 11 minutes into the game beat Miller. Washington up 1-0. Damn! Though you love to see the play in the opposing zone it can back fire. Miller not being involved in the game did not allow him to get in a groove. Ok, it's one goal and lots of time left. The Washington fans sitting behind us got a little cocky and prematurely celebrated a win getting in the faces of all us Buffalo fans. Period ends Buffalo out shooting Washington 13-4, but down 1 goal. The boys get a cheer loud enough to raise the roof.
The second period starts and now the boys are shooting at the end we are sitting. Fabulous! Watching the play develop, seeing how fast the boys pass the puck. Moving side to side, grinding deep behind the net to keep the puck down there. Giving themselves a chance to tie it up. Not letting the puck come out of the zone. It took some time, but about 13 minutes into the period a Washington player goes off on a penalty. Not a minute later Spacek takes a slap shot from the blue line and beats the goalie! The crowd erupts. Spacek was brought to Buffalo for just that reason, but last year he was bust. He scored a total of 6 goals all season. So far this year, he's at 4 goals. Yeah baby! Score tied. The players head to center ice to drop the puck. The puck gets picked up by Buffalo and back into the zone. My Maxie has the puck, some razzle dazzle and the puck is in the net. Nineteen seconds and the boys score again, score Buffalo 2-1. They never looked back! A little over two minutes later Hecht makes a pass to Jason Pominville and in the net it goes. The population of Pominville increases by 1. 'What the Hecht, are you Jochen?' I think I heard the fans from Washington mutter. LOL Score now 3-1. Another two minutes and Adam Mair gets an ugly goal as he battles in front of the net. Ugly? Who cares, it went in and we are winning 4-1. Ohhhhh I wanted to get in the faces of those Washington fans, but to be honest seeing the look of total dejection was enough. Second period ends and the boys out shot Washington 24-6 and now also lead on the scoreboard 4-1.
Third period starts and boys are sitting pretty. They still control the play and most is now down at the other end again. The Craps get a break out pass and in they come. Miller, hesitates coming out for the puck and that split second made all the difference. Green, from Washington, grabs the puck and slaps into the net behind a sprawling Miller. The boys do not miss a beat, two minutes later Derek Roy scores to get the boys up by 3 again. A few minutes later we get called for a penalty and Ovechkin gets his goal for the night. Pretty play and Miller had no chance. No worries, Derek Roy will have nothing to do with that. Less then a minute goes by and he comes back and tips in a Brian Campbell shot and the score is 6-3. Spacek scores four minutes later for good measure. Washington had 16 shots that period, trying to make a run, but so did we. Final buzzer goes and we win 7-3.
The three stars of the game? Ohhhhhhhh I'll let you see and hear the live version. MY Maaaaaaaaaaxie is number 3. Way to go boys. Division rival, Toronto, on Monday. Let's Go Buffalo!!!
If you are requesting this tag and haven't read my previous entry you may want to do so. I needed a little distraction from real life, but please give me a few days to complete requests. I will do my best to fill them as quickly as I have in the past, but please allow some extra time just in case.

It's cold here... not chilly, but cold. As I type it's only 46 degrees. The sky is blue, the clouds white and fluffy, and the tree branches are dancing to the rhythm of fall. I had left a few windows opened a crack last night, but this morning I made my rounds around the house to shut them tight. I am not turning on the heat!!
I'm feeling pretty good this morning. I got home last night and crashed on the couch. I woke up, put on my jammies and went to bed. I needed all that sleep. When I crawled out of bed this morning I was stiff. I don't think I moved a muscle all night. Today will be a bit busy as well, and for the first time in a long time it won't be filled with just Saturday chores. I will do a couple loads of wash, as time permits. Meeting my brother at my parents to pick up the tickets for tonight's game. I am stoked! Four rows from the ice. The original plan was for him to go with me, but he is eating the cost of the second ticket and giving it to my niece. Did I say that already? LOL I can't remember. Anyway she is so excited about going. I swear I saw her bouncing off the walls yesterday. We will most likely leave early for the game, stop at the hospital to see her Mom, grab a bite to eat and fly to the arena. My sister will be in the hospital until at least Monday, maybe longer. No definite time table there. The pain med's are giving her some relief, but believe me she still has pain. They are looking to see if they can find the exact cause. Test after test, prodding and poking. I hate that, but they can't treat it properly if they aren't 100% sure. Again, I'd like to thank you for the wonderful private emails, the comments, and the words of kindness as you light candles for her. They have not gone unnoticed.
Friends and family have been great. I am also thrilled I have the addiction to graphics. It helps keep my mind off things. Puttering around in PSP has saved my mind from completely wandering to a place.....
With that said, I do have something to say. I know I have folks who come to my journal for the soul purpose of requesting tags or snagging what is there. They don't care about my life or what is happening, they don't read, that's ok. What isn't ok is writing to me about not doing enough snags or taking too long to fill a request. That pisses me off! I generally get requests out within in a day or two unless life creeps in. I don't get paid for what I do, I enjoy it, it's a hobby. At the risk of sounding cruel, I do not owe these ignorant excuses for human beings any explanation. I have filled private requests without hesitation, I like to do things for people. I like to help... rarely have I turned anyone down. When I have it's because I didn't have the time or I didn't have the supplies for what they asked for or the time to look. Even then I tell them if they have the pictures send them and I will do something. I'm not complaining I LOVE it! I've never refused a tag request, unless it's been expired. I don't pick and choose who I do tags for. It has always been open. Ask in the time frame and you will get it, I've even made some exceptions there in the past. It's with great sadness that I say that has all changed. I have blocked some from commenting in my journal. The things said to me over the past couple days has shed light on people. How selfish and self centered they can be. I will no longer do tags for them. I can't stop them from snagging, but I will not take my precious time (and I know everyone's time is precious) to make something special for them. They know who they are. This isn't a way to force people to read all my entries, but rather to have some common courtesy and look before you lambaste would be nice. I don't want everyone worrying about it so please don't. Like I said, it's a few folks. If you did not write me or comment about taking to long to fill a request, or how you don't care about hockey graphics and I need to do more snags, it wasn't you. If you did, well, don't bother asking, your mail will be deleted andyou can't comment. Sorry. I have feelings and I have a life. A full life.
:::heavy sigh::: Ok... I do feel better now. I am off and running for the day hope everyone has a great day.
The boys played some inspired hockey this evening. I missed the beginning of the game but it was apparent they had a fire under their butt. They played Atlanta and had 3 goals in the first period. They didn't even allow Atlanta a shot on net until midway through the period. The second period proved to be more offense and even more defense as they scored 2 more goals. At the end of two periods the score was 5-0 in favor of the boys. Three goals with the mad advantage, one being down a man, and one even strength. With less then 30 seconds left in the game they scored another for good measure.
Ryan Miller was stellar in net. Focused and intense. He wasn't extremely busy in the beginning of the game, but sometimes I think that is worse. Out of the groove so to speak, but he did excellent. He recorded his fifth shutout and the boys in front of him did everything in their power to make sure of it. Final score 6-0 :)
There is a personal side to the intensity and I almost wonder if it might be an explanation for the first two games. Ryan has a logo and saying 'Matt Man' painted on the back of his helmet. It was done for his young cousin who was ill with leukemia. Matt Schoals was always on Ryan's mind and his helmet was always a reminder of his strength and courage. He had been in remission but a recent bone marrow procedure led to graft-versus-host disease. The family was told at the end of last week things were not good and there was nothing more then could do. When the Sabres arrived back in to town on Saturday night after their second loss Ryan got in his car and drove straight to Michigan. Matt passed away on Monday. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. I have no doubt tonight's performance was for Matt Man.
The boys play again on Saturday and I will be at the game. Seats 4 rows from the ice. YEAH Baby!! I spent a little more then I should have probably but I deserve it. :) Not sure if Ryan will be in net, but it doesn't matter. He should be with his family..... I have faith the boys will rally either way.

It's late and I'm tired so I will do a little update in this entry... My sister is still in hospital. I didn't stop today as she had so many visitors and I didn't want to crowd her. She needs rest. They are pumping in heavy duty antibiotics and she still has the pain medication. The Dr told her to use more of the pain med's so she can get some deep breaths to help clear the lung. She will be seeing her cancer Dr tomorrow and hopefully a good plan will be put in place to help her. Hoping also some time table will be given as to when she can come home. Thank you again for all the good thoughts and prayers. We all appreciate it. I've been sharing your messages and she is so thankful and wanted me to let you know she appreciates it.
I'm off to bed... hope everyone had a great day. I for one am so happy tomorrow is Friday! I haven't been to many journals and I'm sorry. It's not that I don't want to I just run out of time. Know I will be by soon.
I want to start this entry with a huge thank you. I so appreciate the kind words, support, prayers, candles lit and your friendship. I wanted to put it here for everyone so I didn't inadvertently miss anyone. You all have filled my heart and soul with a warmth that can be matched by no other. I do hope you'll continue your prayers for my sister. She so needs them, and I am being a bit selfish with my asking continually but I have to. Thank you for not letting me down. You have no idea how it makes me feel to see the sweet words left. So many of you have gone back to make sure your candle hasn't gone out as they only last 48 hours....... thank you! Some have mentioned when they light a candle they can't find it again. If you use my link, leave the group name as is and it will keep with the rest. Thank you!
Today was not good at all. I was notified this morning that they took her to the hospital late last night/early morning because the pain was so great and she could not catch her breath. She was admitted and numerous tests were done. Her liver is very enlarged and is pressing on her lung. The fluid from the pneumonia is still there but there is not enough to drain. The infection has not gotten any better. Right now they are not completely sure what is causing the pain. She is on heavy duty antibiotics via an IV and has a pain medication pump. It will still be controlled but she won't have to wait for the nurses. I stopped by to visit her after work and got home a bit ago. She was completely doped up but looked to be in a somewhat comfy. She is getting sleep thank God. Information is a bit limited at this point, but tomorrow there will be more tests and a plan of attack will be put in place. We have no idea how long she'll be there, but I am so hoping she will be home soon.
I will do a few requests tonight, but I know I don't have the energy to fill them all. I am emotionally and physically drained. I do promise you all I will get them out. Thank you again for your understanding and support. You folks rock! I will catch up on you and yours soon. I promise.
Hi folks! I want to start out by apologizing if I was 'short' with anyone, today especially. It was not a good day. Full of raw emotions. No excuse for bad behavior, but I wanted to explain at least a bit. I stopped at my sisters today. No Chemo as she is still on break from it. I picked up a cute little Halloween decoration for her and wanted to drop it off. Nothing big, just a little pumpkin painted and made up like a spider. It was cute............ I stayed about an hour and I ached the whole time. She is in horrible pain, and there is nothing I can do. Frankly, it F'in sucks!! She had called the Dr and was waiting on a new prescription for the pain. She has a pretty high tolerance, so I know it's bad. She can't get comfortable at all. Sitting, laying, standing......... doesn't matter... she is getting very little sleep. I want to punch something, but we all know it won't help. Besides, I hit like a girl. When I was leaving the pharmacy was arriving to drop off the script. Damn it I hope it helps! While there she mentioned a slice of warm apple pie with canned milk sounded good. Pssssttt.. don't tell, but my other sister is off tomorrow so she will put it together and then take it there to bake in her oven. The smell will hopefully fill the house and cheer her up a bit. She said she craves things and then when she gets them they don't do the trick. Maybe smelling the pie will keep the craving alive.
I know I owe tags, but I just couldn't get into this evening. I tried. I will get them out tomorrow. I sat here and played with the above graphic. I love the saying even though I don't always believe it. Well, that's not true. I do, but I have weak times. I did it in purple for her. That's the color for pancreatic cancer. Then decided to do pink in case someone wanted it that way. Feel free to snag.

Ahhh the Bills game last night. There were a few arrests, lots of Dallas fans. LOL I found that pretty funny. Suppose they were upset? The fact that a team playing a rookie QB who only had one other start in NFL? The fact the defense had 3rd, 4th, and 5th stringers playing? The fact that the spread was some where around 14-17 points? And they almost lost? Upsetting? Yeah I think that would do it. Our coach made some pretty bone head calls. Who calls for a pass on third down when you are on the 14 yard line with 4 minutes to go and you are winning? Run the ball, get some more yards if you can, if no first down kick the field goal. GRRRRRRRRR whatever, a genius he is not. I've heard some comments that Romo made... para phrasing... 'we'll only lose to Buffalo if I go over the Falls.' WTF!?!?! He just made it real hard for me to cheer against New England next week. Pompous ass!! I know what I will be cheering for, but I'm a lady and will keep it to myself. :::evil grin::: So anyway, the Bills may have blew it last night, but the defense rose to the occasion and made it a game. An exciting game. Some folks here are upset, others are glad they played hard....... No one went thought the Bills would even be in the game let alone almost winning it.
Gonna try to get some sleep. If my mind will stop jumping all over....... hope you all had a better day
WoW! What a game. There was a bit of everything in this game and I have to say all that Jazz :) The Bills played their hearts out, but lost in the final seconds when Dallas kicked a field goal and won the game by one point. They did not embarrass me one bit, lets hope I don't hear horror stories tomorrow about the fans.

It's been 13 years since the Bills played on Monday night football. This year they are 1-3 playing the Dallas Cowboys who are 4-0. The Cowboys also beat the Bills twice in the Super Bowl. Let's have some fun with this poll. ::evil grin:::
:::waving::: Hi folks!! No, there is no volcano this time :::giggle:::I hope you all had a day as magnificent as mine. Why was mine so great? No reason. LOL I really didn't do anything. A little shopping, some more laundry, lounged around the house, cooked and cooked. Played here of course! Nothing major.
While I was doing laundry I couldn't help but notice the trees out back, as well as the vibrant green grass. I came back upstairs and grabbed my camera and shoes. I went down and out the sliding doors to the patio. I decided to take a few different angles. None are actually 'in' my back yard, but rather the woods that are behind the houses on my street. In the one shot you can see my neighbors garden (or what is left of it) I was going to edit out the fences but decided against it. The chair is one of two that sit out on the patio. I decided to grab a shot and tube out the background to use as an accent here. You all know I've been going to town with digital scrap kits and I am really pleased with how this came out. I am actually going to redo it slightly. Taking off the existing text and I will add Welcome. I'm going to print and frame it to hang in my hallway near the door to my house. Opinions?
The Bills didn't play today. Instead they have the privilege of being totally embarrassed on national TV playing the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Oh the joy! Of course I will watch, but my gut feeling is they will get their asses kicked and look like a JV team playing with the Pro's. I am a jock at heart, as though you might have missed that, so football has been on all day. I haven't been glued to it, but it's been my background noise all day. Ahhhh Sunday's! While I'm talking football, can someone tell me why Da Bears decided to come to play today? Sorry Chicago fans, but I would love to see Brett win this game. I'd love to see the Packers go 16-0. LOL Aaaahhhhh Brett :::googly eyed:::
My sister worked all afternoon so I did dinner. I did beef stroken off... I mean Beef Stroganoff. As it simmered the house smelled wonderful. Just like fall but with temps in the low 80's. I have to admit it tasted absolutely wonderful.
Ok, just something I noticed as I type this entry. I generally open mail and type away as though I am typing an email. This way I can save it as 'send later' in case something comes up. It also helps if I get booted. Once I'm done typing I just copy and paste into my entry. So here I sit and I am being totally distracted by wiggling asses. Yes, you heard that right. In AOL's infinite wisdom they have ads on the bottom of each mail you type. Imagine that!?!?! LOL Anyway the ad I've been seeing is for cellulite. HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO who the hell does AOL think is going to click on it? Can't even tell you the product as it now has changed to Under Armour. Good Gaaawd. How freakin distracting!!!
Back to the regularly scheduled entry. I also made some chicken to have during the week. Just like old times. Football Sunday was always my day to cook. I'd plan out the week and do a good chunk of the cooking while the games were on TV. With working every day it just made it easier. Warm it up and have dinner done before 8pm. Me thinks I am so smart ::evil grin::
So, if you've made it this far, thank you. My boring life............. Off to play a bit more before calling it a night. I am looking for the video the Sabres played on opening night. You Tube here I come. LOL
Hugs

hmmm me thinks this picture is going to throw my journal out of wack. :::sigh:::
Ok, so I am a complete nut. I just had to do it... not sure who made me do it.. but I had to :)

......0-2, and I am not real thrilled right now. The boys played much better in then the first game. Spacek again shot from near the blue line and it hit the back of the net. Last year he had 6 goals all season, this year he already has 2. The period ended 1-0 in our favor. I'm not sure what happened in the second, they played off and on. The Isles got one and then Miller held his own. Making some unbelievable saves, only to be outdone by DiPietro. Dipietro was a wall. The boys had some great scoring chances but he shut the door. The third started out tied at 1, but it didn't last long. The Isles scored about 2 minutes in and then again about 10 minutes in. The boys hustled, they played hard. They pretty much controlled the last half, but couldn't get the puck past the goalie. That is until about 15 minutes in, Hecht scored and made it a game. Fast & furious the boys tried, Miller left the net on two occasions to give us the extra attacker but it didn't help. The final horn went and it was over. Playing better defensively for the most part but the boys came up short. Out of the gate 0-2. GRRRRRR They have a break now for a few days. Regroup and get on a roll boys!
It's been a long day and believe or don't I am ready for bed. Hope everyone had a great Saturday!
OK, well that didn't last long. LOL I just could not resist this ::giggle::

The weather the last few days has been anything but Autumn like. Temps in the mid to high 80's. As I write this it is pushing 80 again. I'm not complaining mind you. I remember last year at this time. The temps were great and then on Oct 13 we were hit with the October Surprise. Here is the entry after the power came back, 7 days later. Snow in Oct is definitely not the norm, but it is possible and I will take 80 any day! The sky is a bright powder blue and cotton candy clouds are scattered here and there. A slight breeze is blowing the leaves to their slumber spot for the winter. Shadows dance across the green grass. Yeap, it's green again, well almost all of it.
As most of you already know I left work early yesterday. The plan was to stop at my sisters. I do thank you for all the suggestions, I've stored them in my memory bank. I did not make it over to her. I called about noon and she did not feel the greatest. In some pain and extremely tired. She hasn't had a good night sleep in some time. She just can't get comfy. Her pain pills aren't touching it at this point. She had a call in to the Dr and was waiting a return call. I had been sneezing and not sure why. I thought it best to stay away from her. I wanted to bring her something but a cold was not on the list! I talked to her daughter a bit later and she was resting. Comfy? Not sure but at least she was in bed. Today her and her husband are to attend a wedding. I am not sure how that will go. She may just stay home and have him go alone. A room full of germs is NOT what the Dr ordered.
Thanks for humoring me on my Sabre poll. Going back after the game is over and voting 'no' does not count. LMAO!!! Speaking of voting no leave me a comment with your thoughts. I know of one person who is voting against my boys, and hey it's ok. I have my big girl panties on. I can take it. Doesn't mean I will agree with you, but talk hockey, or not.. just tell me why you think they won't win. I know I am bias when it comes to my boys, but I'm open to opinions of others. Just don't give me, 'they suck.' As we know that isn't the case :)~ In a 82 game season one cannot expect to win 'em all, and I surely don't. Sure a win in game 1 would have been nice, but I'm not worried at this point. The season has only just begun.
No major plans for the day... Saturday chores. GRRRRRRR I wish I had a maid! LOL I hope to get out and enjoy some of the day today............ Hope everyone is having a great Saturday so far.
Lots of offense, lots of goals, but we came out on the short end of the stick. It started fast and furious. Spacek scored just under three minutes in. Campbell and Goose pick up the assists. It wasn't 7 minutes later and the Islanders tied it up. It went back and forth the entire period. The period ended tied 3-3. I was stunned and disappointed. I've been saying for years we need a big stud defensive to clear the front of the net, and I still say that. The boys left Ryan hanging out to dry. We turned over the puck more times then I care to admit. The second period had more goals even though I thought the teams would tighten up. GRRRRRRRR Down 5-4. Too many penalties, to many mistakes. Our penalty kill was horrid, and our power play not much better. About half way into the third period the Isles scored again taking a 2 goal lead. Then they shut it down. Five shots on goal in that last period was not going to cut it. The Isles kept their zone clear.
Starting the season with a loss is not what I expected or wanted. Last year we started with 10 wins in a row. Maybe this is better. Get the loss out of the way. The boys all took the blame and hopefully have learned from the mistakes tonight. No time to think about it, the same two teams square off again tomorrow in NY.
I had three folks in the poll that said they would lose, but not one of them left a comment so I have no idea. Congrats to you :)~ LOL So lets play again... humor me....

Yeap, less then 24 hours and my boys begin the '07-'08 season. I've been watching other teams play the last couple of days and let me say I think I drooled. Not over the guys on the ice, but in anticipation that my boys will be playing soon. The off season was waaaaaaaaay to long. Well, maybe not for you, but for me it was! After finishing number 1 in the league last year there is lots of speculation by the sports writers of the world. They are thinking we won't even make the playoffs, and if we do it will be a long shot and by the skin of our teeth. Sure we lost 2 guys, very important guys, but that is an insult to the players still here. They have grown and matured and I have faith they will still lay it on the line for each other. I've seen guys step up in the preseason and I can't imagine they won't when it counts. It is, remember, a TEAM sport. We open the season playing the NY Islanders. We played them in the first round of the playoffs last year. We won the series 4 games -1. They too have lost players. More then 2 of them. We'll see how it goes on the ice. Humor me and take a guess on whether we win or not. Paalease? :::grin:::
Today was a great day. After work I met up with my son and his girlfriend for dinner. He had called earlier in the week and it was a 'go' today. We went to Applebee's and it was great. The food was good, but it was wonderful spending time with them. It's been way to long and I miss them. I miss him. Even when he was in the old apartment with the other guys I would see him a couple times a week. Either he needed to do laundry or he needed to get away from them. Down time if you will. Now he's happy, very happy and has laundry facilities there. I'm very happy for both of them, but I miss him. Talking on the phone is not the same. For those of you that have your children far away I feel for you. I do. He's not too far, but our schedules are the opposite so it is rare we are both available at the same time. I can't imagine if he was hours away.
I talked to my brother in law today, and my sister is 'so so'. His exact words. They extended the antibiotics for another 7 days and she goes back to the Dr a week from tomorrow. Three weeks, at least, without treatments. I hope things do get better so she can get back on track. I am leaving work early tomorrow. I have a surplus of those 2 hour passes I told you about previously and I decided I will use one tomorrow. I may just take a ride over and visit with her for a bit. Trying to think of something good to take her. Any suggestions?
I'm off to try and catch up on alerts. It seems JLand was extremely busy today.
I am all caught up on tags :) If you haven't gotten one, it was because the email address was no good (sorry I don't have time to hunt you down), the tag expired, or AOL ate the alert. Please check it out before emailing me.
I made the above tag the other day using a picture of Lisa Jo's, with permission of course. Thanks Lisa!! I held off posting it because of recent circumstances, but it was made for Halloween and in no way is meant to be disrespectful.

Evenin folks! I hope this finds everyone well. I'm doing ok. I think I've recovered from the weekend. Mostly anyway. LOL Still a bit tired, but I will bounce back. Maybe tomorrow I will take a nap at work. :)~
For the past few weeks all was clear on the troll front. That was until today. Apparently no sense of humor when it came to my birthday entry for Ste. Think I care? Nope! Go away. Being tired made me be silly, that is now a crime and offensive? Or just offensive to you? Maybe you need to lighten up and laugh more. Chill out, life is way too short.
I did this tag while in a mood. I will put a disclaimer on it now and say it is not meant to be offensive or insensitive to any woman who has already been stricken. It is for awareness. A little girl asking for a cure before she grows up. I trust you all will see it that way, I hope you don't think I'm making light of the dreaded decease. My troll, well that is a different story.
