~ October 6 ~

DsDesignsAutumnMemories2.gif picture by 55hockeyfan

The weather the last few days has been anything but Autumn like.  Temps in the mid to high 80's.  As I write this it is pushing 80 again.  I'm not complaining mind you.  I remember last year at this time.  The temps were great and then on Oct 13 we were hit with the October Surprise.  Here is the entry after the power came back, 7 days later.  Snow in Oct is definitely not the norm, but it is possible and I will take 80 any day!   The sky is a bright powder blue and cotton candy clouds are scattered here and there.  A slight breeze is blowing the leaves to their slumber spot for the winter.  Shadows dance across the green grass.  Yeap, it's green again, well almost all of it.

As most of you already know I left work early yesterday.  The plan was to stop at my sisters.  I do thank you for all the suggestions, I've stored them in my memory bank.  I did not make it over to her.  I called about noon and she did not feel the greatest.  In some pain and extremely tired.  She hasn't had a good night sleep in some time.  She just can't get comfy.  Her pain pills aren't touching it at this point.  She had a call in to the Dr and was waiting a return call.  I had been sneezing and not sure why.  I thought it best to stay away from her.   I wanted to bring her something but a cold was not on the list!  I talked to her daughter a bit later and she was resting.  Comfy?  Not sure but at least she was in bed.  Today her and her husband are to attend a wedding.  I am not sure how that will go.  She may just stay home and have him go alone.  A room full of germs is NOT what the Dr ordered.

Thanks for humoring me on my Sabre poll.  Going back after the game is over and voting 'no' does not count.  LMAO!!!   Speaking of voting no leave me a comment with your thoughts.  I know of one person who is voting against my boys, and hey it's ok.   I have my big girl panties on.  I can take it.  Doesn't mean  I will agree with you, but talk hockey, or not.. just tell me why you think they won't win.  I know I am bias when it comes to my boys, but I'm open to opinions of others.  Just don't give me, 'they suck.'  As we know that isn't the case :)~   In a 82 game season one cannot expect to win 'em all, and I surely don't.  Sure a win in game 1 would have been nice, but I'm not worried at this point.  The season has only just begun.

No major plans for the day... Saturday chores.  GRRRRRRR  I wish I had a maid!  LOL  I hope to get out and enjoy some of the day today............   Hope everyone is having a great Saturday so far.

Hugs

~d

I love that term cotton candy clouds,I will think of that from now on when I look at the clouds -all fluffy, and umm I love the real cotton candy. My daughter bought me a cotton candy blizzard the other day while we were out and it was delicious, except the sprinkles were annoying after awhile. At first I thought ummm sprinkles then after awhile it was uuugggghhh speinkles,LOL.I don't know a thing about hockey,so I can't comment either way.Just hope they come through for you....
Sorry you couldn't get to your sisters but she knows you love her and I sure hope she gets through all this with flying colors.
Have a nice day,it's 80 here also, but I have a migraine, and have the boys  are here and Bob has called Bobby over to help him with some barn chore,so K will be coming over also..................

I'm sorry you weren't able to visit with your sister. I will keep her in my prayers.
Its so cruel that she cannot seem to get rid of the pain.  I hope the doctor comes up with some relief for her quickly.
I loved the way you described ' a slight breeze is blowing the leaves to their slumber spot.'  I just love descriptive language and you have it mastered my friend.  I enjoy too learning all about your beloved game.
Stay well yourself...I hope you are not starting with a cold.
I will pop across and light a candle...it will have Donna on it.

Hugs

Candle lit. The Pens are not starting the season out well either. I am interested in seeing how the Wings do this year, although they need another scorer, and will have to get one in the middle of the season. Your boys will do fine. Tawnya

I got the feeling when I started reading this entry that it was written when you were feeling sad, after reading it I can see why you would be. I sincerely hope your sister gets well again and that your team win.

you did the right thing by keeping your distance if you think you might be getting sick.  no germs around cancer patients!

but I do wish there was a way for you to visit with her......You and she both need some time together. maybe that cold will skip on by ya.

it is beautiful here!
take care

I think winter is gonna sneak up on us again this year, lol. I lit a candle for your sister earlier this morning. Yes, good idea staying away with a cold. Chemo already puts a strain on the immune system and a cold could hurt her more. Have a wonderful weekend. I got my maid, he did the dishes and mopped the kitchen floor this morning, lol. (((((((hugs))))))))))
Love ya,
Cindy

The weather has been the same here.  high 80's.  Not Fall weather at all.
It is 80 degrees here right now.  It's like we live in the same place. Our weather seems to be the exact same. LOL.
We have had snow in October as well.  There have been several times when it looked more like a white Christmas on Halloween. Please know that your sister is in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, and how I would love a maid as well.  That would be the life!!
Have a great weekend.

there are always a few jerkwads who gotta try and spoil something that means a lot to others...what assholes....i have not one clue at all anything about hockey but i can guarantee you i will root for your Sabres till my damn dying breath because REAL FRIENDS STAND BY REAL FRIENDS.
Oh wait, this is J land and we sometimes forget there are snakes and liars and bad bad people lurking about.
I have your sister so much in my prayers...i have a coworkers husband in much the same shape as your sister and i am often reminded of your sadness and her pain when i talk to my coworker. I hope she gets some pain relief RIGHT NOW.
Love always,

lj

I do hope your sister gets some relief from the pain and gets some much needed sleep too. I remeber so well when you were hit by that snowstorm. It must've been bad if your volcano didn't melt it! Lol! I hope the temperature stays up for you for a while longer, we have summer weather here too! I know zilch about ice hockey but I'll be backing your boys all the way, let's hope this is THE season for them! Jeannette xx

Ok it was me.  I said the Sabres will loose and its because they "suck".  No just joking.  I said yes actually!  Linda

Oh, I do hope your sister feels a bit better now.  I know this has to be hard on all of you.

As to the Sabres, you know me ... I went to see them last season.  I'll go again this... if only to send you pictures.  LOL

The weather here hasn't been very autumn-esque either.  :(  It bothers me because with these high temperatures and the drought we're having, the meteorologists are predicting very little fall foliage.  BOO!

This is my favorite month of the year, because it's usually stunning.  Not so this year.  It still looks like summer.  LOL

I'll be keeping your sister in my thoughts, you can count on it.

Love ya,
Bridgett

I'm sorry they didn't win... and although it is too hot... it is better than a noreaster blizzard.  I guess.  Maybe.  I am sorry your sis is suffering...

Prayers...

be well,
Dawn

Hey hun ;) I really know what u mean about fall weather. Cause well we dont get it here at all in good ol Florida, lmao. Theres summer all yr and what we floridians call like 3 weeks of winter if that lol. I am tired of 80s and 90s. I want it it like lower 70s, upper 60s i love weather like that. bring it, hee. But thats good ur getting nice weather there instead of it being too cold. Im sorry about ur sister dear. I just lit a candle for her and will continue to for her and always pray. It just must be so awful for her. I cant imagine always being in that pain. Ur  a great sister u truly are. I hope u get to see her and soon. As far as ur boys go sorry about them too. But i am very sure even though i dont know a damn thing about hockey, lmao they will win lots more games! Rooting for them for u, lol. Take care dear and ttys :) xoxo, Leslie
