~ Ran out of Time ~

DsDesignsCityStreet3-11-08.jpg picture by 55hockeyfan

I have no idea where the evening went.  All I know is I am making an honest effort to get to bed earlier and my time has run out.  I did not finish all the requests tonight, but rest assured you will get them.

I took my camera to work today and while on break I snapped a couple shots.  The trees were covered with a frost this morning.   I know that sounds odd with all the snow we had, but it wasn't really ice and it wasn't really snow.  They were just white.  I stood on the street behind my office and took the picture.  I think I lost some of the effect as it was gorgeous to the naked eye.  It also gives you feel for what some of the city streets look like.  There is no off street parking for many and on this street they allow parking on both sides.  As you can see the plow can not get thru to get a clear shot of the entire street, leaving mounds and a mess around cars.  Not at all pretty... but hey it's flat!  LOL

This year the company picnic table didn't make it in doors.  I thought the layers looked cool.  Almost like frosting on a cake.  You can see the snow, then a layer of ice, then snow.  You thought I was kidding when I said I had it all.   :)

Lastly, the fire escape on the building next door.  The icicles looked somewhat lonely hanging there.  I just thought it was different.  Shoot me.

Hope everyone had a great day.   Tomorrow is my son's 22 birthday.  Hard to believe my baby is so grown up.  I am not sure if we will do dinner tomorrow or not.  Ya know, the girlfriend and him might want to be alone.  Either way we will catch up to celebrate.   Will most likely be a double celebration as my birthday is only a couple weeks away.  EEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK  Can I still say I'm only 29?  LOL

Well I'm off to bed...  gotta keep the promise to myself.  Have a great hump day all!

Hugs

~d

Awesome entry as always dear ;) Love your pictures. I swear u really do have a great eye :) I love seeing any pics of winter and snow. I havent seen that in i dont know how long. I remember one of ur last entries where u said that u used to live in Tx and u prob wouldnt move back cause theres no seasons, lol. I dont blame u one bit truly. All though i have lived here in Fl all my life i still cant get used to Christmas shopping as u said it perfect, lol, in my shorts. It doesnt feel right so true. If it wasnt that my whole family was here i would have tried anyway to move somewhere with seasons a long time ago, lol. Glad u had a good day hun. Also i was so glad to have read ur dad is moving around great and hes doing ok. Im so happy to know that. Aww i can imagine it must be unreal of ur for ur son to turn 22. Geez i cant imagine that when my daughter will be that age. I wish she could stay her age always, lol. I know its going to hit my mom like a ton of bricks about my brother. His bday is tomm and he will be 31. I cant believe i have a 31 yr old brother, lol. Enjoy celebrating ur sons bday dear :) take care hun, have a good day tomm, xo, Leslie

Love the photo's Donna.  You guys really get the snow/ice and everything in between.  I like seeing the snow but am happy with once or twice a year and gone in a day or two...I know, I'm never satisfied.  And, by the way, if you are 29 and your son is 22 why aren't you in the record book?   LOL

Happy Hump day to you too Donna!  I must say that while I enjoy your photos, the snow piled up around the cars on the street lacks excitement for me..lol..2 years now of being a snow bird makes seeing these kind of pictures glad that I'm not living in it anymore..lol
Take all the time that you need chicky with our tags, believe me, I'm just happy that your making them again hon!
much luv,
Darlene ;)

Happy Birthday to the birthday boy!  I do hope he has a nice celebration.  Who can believe their baby is 22?  It just seems to creep up on you.  You can still say you're 29.  No one will believe you, but you can still say it.  LOL

I enjoyed the pictures Donna.  I always do.  :)

Nice work!  Always glad to see people exercising their creative genius!  And as a Southerner who has had his share of "Northern Exposures", I could appreciate the slush and mess of a city street (though they are certainly pretty when nobody has driven down them!).  But my 'fav' has to be the picnic table with the layers of ice and snow.  You were SO right when you said it looks like a layered cake - put a couple birthday candles on it and it would be good enough to eat!

Keep up the good work; you've got a wonderful blog and I can appreciate all the hard work it takes to keep it looking as good as it does and reading as fresh as a daisy!

Happy Birthday to your son!!  I love those pictures Donna, the first one reminds me why I hate the snow after it has been here for awhile, it just gets so ugly looking!  Linda

No,you may not..that would make you 7 when you had your son,LOL.....
Loved the layers-that is a fantastic shot-shoulda saved that for a contest...I love the icicles pic -it's almost sorta abstract...anyway..I love it...
