~ Where ~

 DsDesignsParadise.gif picture by 55hockeyfan

Where have I been?  LOL now don't I wish I was in paradise!   Of course I do, but not today... nor have I been there over the last few days.  I've been here, in cold and snowy Western New York.  I think I've been in and out of consciousness.  I've been going thru the motions of day to day life.  Working everyday and doing what had to be done.  To be honest when the work day was over I had no desire to be here and write.  I had no ambition to do graphics.  I'd get home, change into sweats or something equally as comfy and veg.  I'd log on, read mail, try to read journals, but I just couldn't keep my focus or concentrate on many of the reads.  Sorry.  It was me not you.  I thought it unfair to pretend so a lot of the times I didn't comment.  But I swear to you I did try.  I've missed you all and hope this entire funk is on it's way out.

We've had some changes at work.  On Friday we started an internal move.  Changing cubicles, area's in the office each department held.  I started packing my desk and belongings around 3 when my phone was messed up, died, or reconfigured.  Holy shit, do you know how much stuff I've gathered in the 15 years I was there?!?!  Can you say garbage bags galore?  Can you say dust??  The movement of walls, desks, wires, after laying dormant for so several years stirred up all kinds of dust and who knows what else.   The cleaning company does not move items, and let me tell you it was obvious!!  I left for the day and couldn't wait to get in the shower.  I felt gross!   The crap I inhaled, OMG!!

Monday was a trip.  When I arrived at work my phone was still not operating.  Oh the joy!  All I could think was, thank God I was leaving early.  I'd had a dull headache for days and sitting pretending to work while things were being changed around me was not helping.  I set up my desk, put things in the proper place and watched the clock.  YEAH!  It was time to go.  I got out in the fresh air and felt a bit better.  I picked up my son and we went shopping.  We so lucked out.  He found what he wanted at the first store we stopped at.  A couple pair of shorts, t-shirts, and new socks.  He was a happy camper and so was I.  At this point my headache had come back and my throat felt like sandpaper.  I dropped him off and went home to bed.

Tuesday I forced myself to work.  It was a long day and the later it got the worse I felt.  (WARNING: gross part of story, you may want to skip it)  Wednesday the same thing.  I stopped at the store and bought tea bags and some water to help sooth my throat while at work.  I was driving along minding my own business when all of a sudden my mouth was full of puke.  No warning, just there.  I scrambled to empty the bag, quickly searched for holes or breaks in the plastic.  Then I help it up to my mouth as I drove, spitting and finish the job in the bag.  Why didn't I pull over?  I couldn't I was in the wrong lane and no time.  I thought about turning around and just going home but at that point I felt better.  So there I am, driving to work holding a bag of puke.  Feeling better did not last long and I left a bit early.   I pretty much slept away the day.  Today I decided to stay home.  Throat burns and feels raw.  My sinuses causing my head to pound.  So far all is clear so I don't think it's an infection, I actually think it might have something to do with the move.   A day without talking will no doubt do me good, or I am hoping so.  I still have some nasal drip, but I was able to eat some soup.   I feel pretty good except for the throat.  Let's hope this goes away, like NOW!

Oh, Happy Spring!!!   Yeah... that's right it is the first day of spring.  Can someone tell Mother Nature?  It snowed here last night.  Nothing major and the roads are just wet, but it was snow none the less.  What had melted or the rain had washed away is back.  I actually got excited when I started to see grass.  So much for that!!!   The one good thing about it.  The dirty soot covered piles along the side of the road are now covered in a fresh white blanket.

What I thought was going to be a quick update turned into a short story, sorry.  I do hope you all are doing well.  I hope that spring really arrived in your neck of the woods.   Thanks for the good wishes, mails and comments of concern.  I will try to be better.  I swear.

Hugs

~d

PS  On a real happy note congrats to Gaz and Phil on their big day!!!

Sounds like you have had a rough time.  I did your trip once.  My son and I had been Christmas shopping in Nashville when it hit me.  Fotunately, we had a lot of bags I could use...UGH.  I wasn't driving either.  Can't imagine that.  I hope you recover quickly Donna.  We did miss you.

Sorry to hear that you have been sick D......... i think its the dreaded weather hanging around. I had a cold a couple of weeks back , looked like i had got over it then last week Friday after 2 days of feeling like crap went to the doc's and had a sinus infection........ so antibiotics & decongestant meds....... oh the joy...... Thankfully it got rid of all the muck that way up there.

I hope that your throat is feeling better and also you.............. have a good rest over the holiday weekend

Hi d
I hope you feel better soon!! OMG You getting sick while driving~ Poor thing.
That sounds like something from a movie!!!!

I fell this past weekend and sprained my foot. Same leg I had spained my ankle on in July. That took 3 1/2 months to heal!!! ARG!!!
I was sitting at my computer my leg feel a sleep and I thought I could walk until I took the first step and down on the floor I went! foot bent in half!! OUCH! As I was sitting on the floor crying my son with autism came over and started laughing at me.
I think I was crying more not from the pain but the fact I was just getting back into my work out routine from the last injury and I was so pissed!! Now the treadmill sits as a end table again. LOL

We had snow here last night and this morning. At least I can see the bulbs coming up and trees budding. A Sign of spring!

Loved your pictures of last week end and I thought the flower picture when you went to visit your sister was awesome. I don't think we will ever stop missing our loved ones!! I still miss my parents like it was yesterday!

You Take Care and feel better!
Hugs,
Mary

We had lovely spring weather from last weekend until today when it turned to rain and winds.  We are to expect snow for the Easter Weekend.   Bah!
I reckon your move has disturbed eons of fluff and germs and that's why you are suffering.  This wintery weather isn't helping anyone either.  What everyone needs is a good old doze of sunshine and blue skies.  That would do the trick no bother.
Don't worry about making comments or visting.  Just you take care of YOU!  Its not like you to be so depleted of energy and interset so you obviously need cosseting and a little break from it all.   Take it my friend.  You deserve one as you work so hard.
Happy Easter and Get Well Soon.  (Hope your Dad is up and running now).
Hugs

OH man Donna, the puking all of a sudden just stinks. I'm glad you stayed home today and let your body get the rest it needed and I hope you feel better tomorrow.

It snowed here this morning too, it's actually snowed everyday this week, but the ground is too warm for it to stick.

God Bless

Wow, D, that could almost be my story.  I've been fighting the raw throat since the weekend.  Work was slow.  I forced myself Tues but couldn't on Wednesday or today.  We don't have tomorrow off.  I really don't want to take another day off so will probably force myself to go.  This weather just isn't helping any.   Hope you get out of your funk.  Take me with you, puhlease.  Love ya, Chris  (Love this tag and all the rest, as always.)

I am so so sorry to hear about how sick you were.  That is gross awful.  What did you do with the back once you went in to work?  Hopefully found a trash can. I think it was probably all that junk you inhaled.
BTW, I have a very sweet cousin who lives in Fairport.  Are you close to there?

Look how far behind I am Donna...why?
Cause i've been in a funk and sick too...we're
just two peas in a pod...lol

I have had several days lately of not wanting to get online at all really...just wanting to come home and relax and watch tv...and veg out as well...I guess we go through times like these when the computer is really the last thing on our minds...especially when spring has arrived...we have had temps in the 60's...not bad but can't wait for some 70's...and to be able to go buy some flowers without having to worry if we are gonna any more temps below freezing or not...

I missed 4 days work...last thurs and fri..and mon and tues of this week....I've been sicker than a dog with broncitis, upper respiratory infection and the stomach flu...UGH!

Still not feeling great...but now Jeff is coming down with it...I am fixing to Lysol everything in this house...lol
