~ Monday Blues ~

DsDesignsSteve7-30-07.jpg picture by 55hockeyfan

The only thing blue about today was the look of the water in my parents pool.  Never did make it out the beach.  Steve had a few things to do and didn't get done quick enough to take the ride, enjoy the day, and get back for a nap before work at 11.  Since I was off we had really wanted to just hang out a bit together, so we decided to invite ourselves to my parents.  LOL  Yes those are pictures of my 'baby.'  You can tell as he was floating he had enough of the camera!

It was a beautiful day to hang out in the sun, float, and then hide under the cover of their patio out back.  I'm not one to sit and bake in the sun all day.  How things have changed.  I can remember growing up.  We had a pool in our backyard and I would lather up in baby oil and lay in the sun until I sizzled like bacon.  When I could stand it no more I'd jump in to cool off.  My father hated it!  The oil would slide off and float to the top leaving an iridescent film.  Multiply that by the 5 girls.  Ewwww

Then the hair in the filter.  OMG!!!  At one point he said enough and wanted us to wear our hair up.  We cheated more often then not on that one, but it was better then a bathing cap, eh?  How sexy would that look?  ROFL  That is a thing of the past with me.  I just can't do it.  Even before I got sick it took a toll on me, but now, forget it.  My skin crawls no matter what level of sunscreen I use, my head aches, and I get nauseous for days.  Not worth it!  So I take my milky white skin and enjoy myself as much as possible.  It's not good for you anyway.

After a couple of hours my brother and his wife showed up.  I never see them so it was nice!  My nephew ended up meeting them there too, so it was nice to yack and get caught up on summer life.  My nephew leaves for school in a couple of weeks.  How grown up!!!  I remember him when he was first born.

Right before we left, Cabana Boy walked in.  Or should I say limped in?  He had some major issues with his left foot since he was an infant. A deformity that they did surgery on several times.  He ended up having two toes removed and that solved the issues for some time.  OMG!!!  I can remember being at the ocean when he was younger.  Girls would flock to him.  Anytime anyone asked what happened to his foot he would reply, 'I got bit by a shark.'  Such a character he was.

Now that he is older he has had nothing but more trouble.  His foot develops a fatty like tissue and after a few years it has to be removed.  Awhile back he got a ball of sorts as a growth on the bottom of his foot.  Being like he is, he put off having it looked at.  Needless to say on Saturday the ball split and he blood along with goop come out.  He went to emergency room on Sunday.  He couldn't understand the Dr at all so he let him treat it some what but he left.  Today he made an appointment with a specialist for tomorrow.   They feel there is an infection in there and they need to get it looked at and properly treated.  He has pain behind his knee and up his thigh.  They wanted him there today but he couldn't get there before they closed for the day.  He will be dropped off in the morning and will call me when he is done and I will go get him.  So much for time off without having doctor, dentist, or other appointments.  What can you do?  He's my brother...........   LOL and he ain't heavy!  :)~  Send some good vibes his way if you think of it.  He seemed a bit nervous about the whole thing.  Like maybe he knew more then he was telling.   Surprise!  Wouldn't be the first time.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Hugs

~d

Prayers going out for your brother, I hope everything turns out okay for him.

He looks so relaxed in the pool..it may be where I will head later today, mysefl. I remember the days of baby oil and the sizzle.  What a mess it was back then.  I can't stand the suntan lotion, but wear it.  The higher the better for me.  Fair skinned I am too.   Cabana boy was a character telling the girls it was a shark!  I know you are happy he is seeing a specialist for the infection...hope it clears fast.
Hugs and love,
Joyce

What a strange thing to be happening.  My sister's son was born with a club foot and it is smaller than the other and he has had multi troubles with it over the years  I do hope that he can be treated without there being anything major wrong.  It is good that he is getting it attended to.  Gerry

very handsome son you have there. I know this comment is late, but I will keep your brother in prayers. I use to love to lay out in sun, but since the cancer and all it bothers me. Now I'm under an umbrella. ((((((hugs)))))))
Love,
Cindy

D, your son is a good looking young man.  He looks to be enjoying himself.  Not the camera  HAHAHAHA  I remember long hair in the pool filters and my sister sunning herself.  Hope your brother is ok, will catch up this evening.
