Game 2 Hero

It's Miller Time!  Ryan stood on his head tonight making 43 saves on 44 shots.  He robbed several of Ottawa's scorers of getting the puck to the back of the net.  This game was in no way like game 1 of the series.  There were no goals scored in the first.  It was an exciting game and both goaltenders played hard to keep their team in it.  Good backchecking and forechecking, crisp tape to tape passes and fast skating down the length of the ice.  Early in the first Tim Connolly did the ultimate no no in hockey and tried to cut across the middle of the ice, only to get hit hard by Schaefer.  Both guys went to the ice, but Timmy laid there for a bit.  Not sure if he was knocked out but he was pretty still.  Timmy did not come back for the rest of the game and there could be a concussion.  A couple years ago he was out a good portion of the season because of a head injury so I do hope it isn't to serious.  No penalty was called and at first it appeared to be a clean hit, but on the replay it looks like Schaefer may have had his elbow a bit high.  Either way, keep Timmy in good thoughts please.

The second period started with Ottawa on the power play.  One thing you don't want to do with the Sens is give them the opportunity to play with one more guy then you.  The boys looked great and held them off.  A a minute or so after the penalty was over Buffalo had a great break out of their zone Taylor Pyatt (better known as Pixie Dust in my household) passed the puck through the neutral zone to JP Dumont, off to Danny Briere and back to JP for the first goal of the game.  Buffalo up 1-0.  Three minutes later Jochen Hecht (known as Joanne) stole the puck and barreled in for goal number 2.  Aaah it's great to have him back!!!  He'd been out a few games and I couldn't wait for him to get back.  Only thing, it seems him and Timmy are taking turns.  About 2 minutes later Ottawa got on the board and it was 2-1.

The third period was full of action, but the boys held them off to win the game 2-1 and steal both games in Ottawa.  We come back to Buffalo with a 2-0 lead in the series and play game 3 on Wed.  Again, my heart needs the rest!  Hopefully we can keep this up there is still a lot of hockey in the series.  Congrats Ryan on a great game.  You are the number 1 star and the hero tonight!

Donna,

It's so cute the way you get so "into" hockey!!!  Your enthusiasm is so refreshing.  I've been out of town and I'm soooo far behind again on alerts....it's crazy....

Take Care,
