~ Very Early Morning ~

DsDesignsMoon8-28-071.gif picture by 55hockeyfan

So call me nuts.  I set my alarm so I could get up and get pictures of the lunar eclipse.  When the alarm went off, I hit snooze.  A natural reaction in my morning haze.  It didn't last long as I remembered why I had it set so early.  In the darkness I fumbled to find my light and get dressed.  I threw on shorts and a shirt and headed outside.  Even in the darkness I could see the clouds and fog rolling in.  I made my away along the side of the house to the backyard.  I had to stand at a certain angle so the trees didn't block my view.  It amazed me how low the moon looked.  Hoping I could get a few shots before it fell below the tree line or before the clouds completely covered the view.  For a second I thought about hopping in my car and driving to the corner where the view might have been better, that lasted one second!  LOL  Besides there would have been too many lights.  As you can see I was able to get a couple before the view was gone.  Not too bad... but they could have been better had it been clearer out...

:::sigh:::  I'll be ready for a nap on that couch about noon!  LOL

Have a great day all

Hugs

It is great u got the shots you did they are really good.  My experience with the eclipse was quite memorable.  Could not sleep so watched it, then got tired and fell asleep my friend called me to say it was happening, could not see from the window anymore.  So half asleep went to go outside and promptly fell down the cement stairs and hit my head on the cement and hurt my arm, shoulder leg and hands and ankle.  Then i got up and I too could not see it well becasue of the trees, and  walked  up the street  but was hurting too much, so I came home.  Yes I will remember this for a long time, lol.

Thats great!  For some reason, my camera won't focus on outdoor photos after dark.  I tried to take some moon shots two days ago and all i got was blur.  Linda

Glad you were able to get the shots.  The latest on Daniel is that he has had an ultrasound scan and is now waiting to see the consultant, whenever that may be, to know whether he will need an MRI scan.  Not doing a journal entry, too damned tired. Probably do one tomorrow.

Wasn't this just an amazing sight??!!  The sky here was completely clear and the moon was so bright prior to the eclipse that it seemed like an eerie sort of daylight.  Thanks so much for sharing your photos!

Peace~

You had a great view!  I saw it through a tree.  Not so good.  I was up a 5am to help hubby out the door.  I wish the tree hadn't been there!

Thanks for sharing the pics of this eclipse. Us Europeans missed it altogether - the moon had long set by the time you took these pics (it was 11.47 AM over here).

Beautiful!  So glad you got up to take pics and share.  LOL -- I slept right through it.  Of course, the full moon and the eclipse lead in had us so busy at work, I was too tired to care.  LOL

Very nice!  I saw it at the bus stop this morning but not nearly as clear as yours.  Love ya, Chris

Fantastic photos. I wouldn't even bother trying to find an eclipse, just simply because of the amount of lights in this area. I'd never see anything. Glad to have photos like these to see.
