And is this it???  You are not going to believe this.  The boys are down another Dman.  Yes, you heard that right, another one!   Apparently late Tues night early Wed morning, Jay McKee was woken up with a severe pain in his leg and swelling.  It seems earlier in the playoffs he was cut in the shin area blocking a shot.  It started to heal but was aggravated again sometime during this series.  He went to the hospital on Wed and they pumped him full of antibiotics but to no avail he has a staph infection and will not play this evening.   Get Well Soon Jay!  My heart goes out to you!!

 

Game 7 of the Conference finals and we are down 4 of our top 6 defensemen and one of our great play making center.  What else?  I am amazingly calm.  I read this on line earlier and it made me chuckle, made me smile, made me cry.  I will share it but can't take credit for it.   Game is about to start so I will be back later.  Say a prayer

Mike Grier's alarm doesn't go off and he misses the 1st period, because no Raleigh cab-driver will pick him up. The equipment manager loses all the sticks. Drury slips in the shower, breaking his collar-bone, and JP Dumont, contracts a rare disease causing his head to spontaneously fall off.

 

It's a level playing field, says Laviolette and he's real proud of the way his guys fought adversity to... take the Sabres to overtime before losing on Derek Roy's spectacular goal. Brian Campbell was too exhausted to speak, after playing a playoff-record 44 minutes and assisting on 2 goals, but not too exhausted to smile. Ryan Miller was also pretty wiped out due to his 41 saves, several of which left both Laviolette and veteran forward Doug Weight in tears. The Sabres arrived home at 2 AM to a delirious reception from their fans at the airport.
