~ Prayers and good Thoughts, Please ~

                     20070626101109990013.jpg

Ok, Jeannette was kind enough to send this to me after I expressed some concern.  Thank you my friend!   What is it?  It's Sheffield England.  Home of our adorable Ste and his family.  I don't know exactly how close he is to this, but it scared the shit out of me.  Guido informed me of the weather (thanks again Guido) and I've been concerned since.  Lots and lots of rain, and not sure what else.  You see, without fail, one of them is on my buddy list 24/7 and neither have been in two days.

My heart and head says they are ok but the thought of them losing anything has me sick.  The thought of them crammed in some shelter has me sad.  I don't want to give false alarms, but I ask that you whisper a prayer for them.  Ste is sporadic with updates so that is no help.  Stupid ass me never got the new phone numbers when all his changes occurred so I can't even call.  Please send good vibes.  I'm linking his journal if you want to go and leave a comment and let him know you're thinking of him.  If anyone has heard from them or seen them, please let me know.  You know me... mother hen... LOL  And ya all know how I adore him.

thanks you guys rock!

Babes............ I do hope you are ok and it's just no power or something and all is safe and sound.  Love ya!!  xxxxx

I certainly hope that isn't anywhere near where he is!  That would be horrible!  I left a comment a couple days ago telling him I missed him and wondered where he was, and prayed he was safe.

If you hear anything, let us know, Donna!

Hugs

I do hope they're OK Donna, I'm sure it's just phone lines down or power failure. Keeping them in my prayers. Jeannette xx

I hope your friends are ok. As Jeannette said lots of people are without power at the moment and lots have had to leave their homes. 4 people have died and a bridge collapsed yesterday. Thankfully we don't flood, we have a 40ft deep drain like a mini river which runs directly under the town and has flow control to help when the river gets high.

Its quite a scary time around the country during all this rainfall.  It seems to becoming a regular thing these days too.  Good vibes are being sent to Steve.  Its more than likely a power cut which is keeping him from communicating.  Its quite devastating to watch all this on TV.  It's not that long ago that residents in Carlisle returned to their refurbished homes after they had disastrous floods.  We never know these days..do we?  It will take so long to turn their lives around again.  Its those without insurance cover I feel for.  In one case flats were purposely built well above the previous flood line so the owners didn't think it was necessary to insure against floods   Prayers are being said for all of those affected.   Jeanie

Sending my thoughts and prayers out to Ste and all of those living in the Sheffield area.  Judging by the picture, I'm sure power is out for that area.  I'll pray that is the only hardship they have to endure.

Flooding in Sheffield has receded, and is now progressing downstream. The towns of Doncaster, Retford and Newark are affected, and a man is missing, presumed dead, near Doncaster. More torrential rain this weekend. Thanks for good vibes.

Well, I'm a bit late, but never-the-less sending good vibes to Ste and his family and the rest of the fine citizens of the area.
