~ Saturday in the Park ~

DsDesignsSummerinthePark6-2-07.jpg

Yes, I made it outside today.  I got my chores done and quickly took a trip to the park.  I wanted to breath the fresh air, what I got was a bunch of the white cotton wood crap up my nose, in my mouth, and stuck in my eyelashes.  It was wonderful, AAHHCHOOO!  Seriously it was wonderful.  The sky was blue with little cotton candy dabs scattered about.  The grass was soft under my feet, and kids were running and playing every where.  I got to the creek, or as some may have heard, I say 'crick'  LOL  I pulled the camera up to my eye to get shots of the little water falls.  It was amazing the number of people actually in the water.  Not because of the weather, it hit 88 degrees here today.  But the water.  Ewww  At any still point you could see the white cotton wood floating on top and it looked like scum.  I don't think I could have gotten the nerve to stick my head in there.  It was hot though, so I understand the kids just not the adults.  I cut out the people, but believe me they were in there!  I don't know what those purple flowers are, probably some type of weed, but the looked pretty and let off a wonderful sweet smell.  I didn't get to close, lots and lots of bees.  I thought it added a nice touch to the collage.

I had a few folks comment and/or email me regarding renting a flat.  It's a two story house and I have the main floor.  Three large bedrooms, bath, living room, a HUGE kitchen, and use of the finished basement.  I've been here for years.  After being in an abusive relationship in Texas my son and I came back to the area.  This became vacant a couple years after we came home, and my lease was up in the apartment I was in.  I decided to take it.  It's a house with a nice yard, a driveway, and family close by.  I didn't get child support (which is another story for another day) and it's been just my income.  A house?  I think not, but I will admit my living quarters are as big as some ranches I've seen.  Renting from relatives is not always the best situation and at times this is no different, but the good far outweighs the bad!  Playing Mom and Dad for years, working full time, having my son enjoy the things that young boys do....... boy scouts, football, baseball, soccer, you name it, taxi, chef, maid, nurse, all by myself, you get the picture.  Ohh life has been good, don't get me wrong and my family did chip in when it was truly needed.  Time and money for a house?  Not!  But I have a shit load of memories and good times.

Speaking of my son, he was out on my nephews boat today.  I saw this little graphic and thought of him (feel free to snag if you like).  Some how I think his belly and chest are going to be just as red!  He did call me when he was on his way home and said they had a blast, but he was hungry and tired.  I will hear more about it tomorrow for sure.

A Caron Vinson snag.  I absolutely love her work!  I told you I would use that moon again ::grin::  I am very pleased with how this came out.  I had to put my copyright on for the use of my picture, it's one of the stipulations of CILM.  I'd rather not have all the writing, but rules are rules.  LMAO and I must follow them :)~

Last but not least, just something silly, and yes more fritillary.  I couldn't resist having these together and I had no idea what to add to it, so........... blinkie effect.  LOL   Another snag if you like.  I know how you ladies like shoes.

Well, I'm being a bit silly because I'm getting tired.  I am off to bed.  I hope it's cooler in my room.  It's midnight and it is still in the mid 70's.  I think my head will be in front of the window again tonight.  I hope everyone had a great day!

Hugs

Sounds like a perfect day to go with some perfect graphics.  You amaze me girl!  Your creative side is outstanding.  You make your journal along with so many others jump to life.  I do like that you are adding more of your own pictures.  You need to get into this as a profession.

I liked the pictures of your day in the park.  The collage effect is excelllent!
I think the flowers look like phlox.  I could be wrong.  The smell of phlox is wonderfully aromatic.   Especially in the warmth of the evening.
Magical graphics too.   I have snagged the sunbathing bird on the old inner tube.  I thought this one was the best!

Sounds like a perfect day!  Cotton wood fluff and all.  We had 'snow' flying off and on all day -- it was tough to see through it as it came through.  Big thunderstorms last night!

Graphics are, as always, beautiful!

Hey there!  Catchin' up with you.  You know, the graphics you're creating with your own photos are GORGEOUS!  I've been snaggin' them. ;)  I take it there's no expiration date on those since you don't have the little note under them.  I've been slowly but surely reorganizing my room here and am setting things up so it's easier to scan pictures so perhaps in a week or so I'll finally get those pictures of Pop to you.
I miss reading you everyday but I felt like I just spend a relaxing Sunday morning hanging out with you so I think I made the right decision with my alerts.

I think any woman that manages to bring up a child and work full time on her own is amazing.  My mum did it and as I'm a working girl myself now I have new found respect for her coz when I get home all I wanna do is crash out but when you have kids that isn't always possible.  Love the graphics :-)
